Standing bar press off pins, lean back start. Felt super strong for once.
Up to 135kg x 2. Would have been 3 but misgrooved and grinded 2nd rep. Several down sets with 125 and 115 wjth slow negs
Rack DL no belt 11". Horribly hard start position for me, best ever was 332.5kg x 2
75kg warmup
175kg x 2. Already felt shaky and rough.
265x1 really hard
285x1 max max from below knees, when I passed knees its 0 lbs. All those months of Anderson squats were possibly a huge waste. They help mid upper back but not the extreme low back which is very out of shape now. Super slow negative with 285 and put it away. Will rotate a few deads like deficit and floor height every 2 weeks.I love you Jesse Marunde

6" deficit pendlays, up to 120x8 and 140x5 then 120 down set, completely destroyed my entire back more than anything else in my life, wish I could have went back in time and told myself to hit these!

Journey of a Powerlifter and Strongman: Upcoming Competitions and Training
Introduction
Competing in both powerlifting and strongman events requires immense dedication, strength, and strategic planning. With a successful track record in previous meets, I am gearing up for an exciting lineup of competitions this year. Here’s a look at my journey, upcoming competitions, and my training regimen.
Best Lifts and Recent Competition
At my best, I’ve achieved lifts of 727.5 pounds for squat, 518 pounds for bench press, and 705 pounds for deadlift, all in the single-ply category within the 308-pound weight class. Recently, I competed at the LA Fitexpo American Cup, which was a challenging yet rewarding experience.
Upcoming Competitions
February 21st: USAPL Meet, Raw Division
This meet will test my raw lifting capabilities without the support of single-ply equipment. I am focused on refining my technique and maximizing my strength.
March 7th: Southern California's Strongest Man
Competing in strongman events requires versatility and overall strength. This event will challenge me with a variety of lifts and physical tasks.
April or May: Possible Powerlifting Meet
Depending on my progress and recovery, I might participate in another powerlifting meet. This will be an opportunity to further improve my lifts and gain more competition experience.
June: California's Strongest Man (NAS Strongman Pro Qualifier)
A major goal for this year is to secure a strongman pro card. This qualifier is a critical step towards achieving that goal.
July: USPF Men's Nationals
Competing at the national level is always an honor. I am preparing rigorously to perform my best and aim for top placements.
Later in 2009: NAS Nationals
If I don't win a pro card in June, the NAS Nationals will be my next target. It’s another chance to prove my strength and earn a pro status.
Training and Recovery
After the recent meet, my body is sore, but I am committed to my training regimen. Tomorrow, I will focus on light upper body work to aid in recovery and maintain muscle engagement without overexertion.
My training includes:
Strength Training: Focused on the three main lifts (squat, bench press, and deadlift) with variations to target different muscle groups.
Strongman Specific Training: Incorporating event-specific exercises like log lifts, farmer's walks, and tire flips.
Conditioning: Ensuring cardiovascular fitness and endurance to handle the physically demanding events.
Recovery: Prioritizing rest, nutrition, and techniques like stretching and massage to keep my body in peak condition.
Conclusion
Balancing powerlifting and strongman competitions is a challenging yet fulfilling endeavor. With a series of exciting competitions lined up, I am committed to pushing my limits and achieving new milestones. Stay tuned for updates on my progress and competition results.
For those interested in strength sports, I encourage you to stay dedicated, train smart, and never underestimate the importance of recovery. Your body’s resilience and capability to improve are incredible – harness that potential, and you’ll achieve great things.
