While I was daydreaming, the wife returned with a straight face and told me that the girl was already talking to someone else. My dreams shattered in an instant, but I shrugged it off and pretended not to care, though I felt pretty disappointed.

Fast forward to today, my friend’s wife sent me a voice message out of nowhere saying her slooty friend had reached out, asking about me. I was certain she had seen my LinkedIn profile last year and thought I was a good backup plan.
