Drake may be the best example of the fact that rap and urban culture is straight up ghetto-ass claptrap.
He has been set with a cushy life since his Degrasi days. He has zero reason to be involved in thie ****, and yet here he is.
Just fkn lol if you listen to any of that garbage. The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

How are these guys even pretending to have a feud? It's so counterfeit. 12 year old drill rappers are killing each other and making absolutely terrible music about it on a near daily basis, if I'm not mistaken.
'80s and '90s hip hop was awesome. '00s I have grown to appreciate as I get older. But I think once Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy took off it became fashionable to essentially disregard the core tenants of what make hip hop an enjoyable music genre. The flow got choppy (and has since devolved to intentionally off-time) and repetitious...in fact, mumble rap as a genre is taking an awkward flow a talented MC would maybe throw in at the end of a 32 bar verse, and making it the rhythm of the entire song or album. Such garbage.
The cadence lost the intimidating edge and just became sniveling crack head. They do weird shrieks, and moans. Lil Wayne definitely got a lot of this started. And the beats just get noisier and noisier.
The mumble rap zoomer kids chit on all the hip hop that came before them. They'll say "Old heads" or "lyrical" as insults, typical of the generation who hates their own parents and all boomers despite being even more narcissistic and self-absorbed than the boomers ever were. And the lyrical content went from "a means to escape the ghetto" to embracing the ghetto. Like I said, drill rappers are like 12 year olds dropping mixtapes on datpiff and killing each other. It's crazy.

Well, he wanted to be a thug. Now he gets to fear for his life like a thug. Too bad about the security guard.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

This brah knows his Hip Hop.
Agree with every word. As a 27 year old who grew up on the golden era music, but is peers with the the youngest Millennials and oldest Zoomers, I’ve been apart of both worlds. One of my best friends is my age. He constantly chits on lyrical Hip Hop, calls it “boring old head smoking music.” We have debates about modern rap all the time. His favorite rappers are NBA YoungBoy and Lil Tjay. Mine are Nas and Masta Ace.
I don’t understand where the fuk he comes from at all because both of us grew up together listening to 50 Cent, Wu Tang, etc.. All of the new chit sounds the same to me, just auto tuned mush mouthed degenerate garbage, over the same generic trap beats, talking about the same chit with slightly different melodic flows. He says switching flows and putting emotion in the music are what keeps new songs interesting, while 90s rappers used the same slow cadence on every song. Obviously that emotion is manufactured by computers, however it goes to show the modern audience cares nothing about lyrics.
I blame 2 factors for the decline of Hip Hop: Atlanta and Lil Wayne.
As soon as New York fell out of the forefront of the culture and the industry flocked to ATL, the music went from being about authenticity, competition, storytelling and consciousness, to being about catching a vibe.
As soon as Lil Wayne hit the top of the charts, the rest of the game adopted his style from tattoos to accent. The young rappers we see today were directly influenced by Wayne, as they grew up on him. I’m not even really hating on Wayne because looking back he actually has some lyricism with clever punchlines (and occasionally corny ones lol).
Drake is a byproduct of not only the factors mentioned above, but also pop-influenced industry plants. There’s nothing real about this cocksucker. Everything about him is fake down to his accent. At least Kendrick puts thought into his music and I truly do believe some of the claims he brings up that Drake is a p3do.
Still it’s embarrassing that this beef is spilling over into multi-million dollar Canadian mansions lmaoooo.
