chit brahs, im droolin over the new 2018 polo gti, looks so hngg. Wood buy golf but its just too much for me, and i actually like the polo better for some reason, soooo tempted.
Driving 2008 bmw 330i msport at this moment, but the ridicilous insurance and fuel cost is annoying. For each and every time your failures will craft you, until fear of them is gone.
We all wanna be somebody, we just need a taste of who we are.

Long rant inc
as of tuesday morning ( first work day of the week for me) car started getting the cold start misfires quite badly and threw a check engine light so I was a bit worried but once it warmed up it stayed away, next day again same thing... started reading much deeper into this and saw people doing what is called the "Italian tune up" which is driving on freeways above 3k rpms for 20 mins or so. I baby my car i dont redline i dont drive it hard but these last 2 days ive been really opening it up when possible and the check engine light went away. Went to home depot and bought a ball valve and some clear hose and ran some seafoam to try and clean up the decarb, I know this isnt a permanent fix i just needed a bandaid for the moment till i gather the tools i need and parts i need to do the valve cleaning that it needs.
Called the dealer nearby and estimate on the job is 949 lmao
Cliff notes
-Cold start misfire, throws check engine light
-Read up more on carbon build up on valves
-Start driving car aggressively to try and clear excessive carbon last 2 days
-Check engine light clears as of this morning
-Eventually ill do the valve cleaning but currently dont have all the times just needed bandaid

Wow this thread move slow. One page back I bought my 15' Golf R. Now I'm coming up on 3 years with it. Excellent car, but it's time for an upgrade. I test drove an RS3 over the weekend. Looking very likely that I will go that direction. My only gripe is that I wish Audi offered the sportback in the US.

Yeah I've loved my '16 R but starting to get the itch to move to something new. I'm trying to hold out for the new RS3 but it's gunna be at least a year before we see that thing state side, maybe 2. Dunno if I'll last that long.
I had a mk6 gti, was a great car especially once I made some adjustments (bilstein setup all 4 corners, thicker rear swaybar, tune, etc). The mk7 is really good though, I'd see if you can hunt down a performance pack one that isn't too loaded otherwise so you get the front diff, heard it's a game changer for the FWD**MFC**

My buddy is selling his 2018 Ara Blue Pearl RS3 with 20k on the clock
Agreed about the mk7, my brother went from an mk6 to a 7 and loves it so far. Plus the gen 3 engines finally got most if not all the kinks ironed out, that's actually the reason the mk6 went byebye. It was modded thoughMe caveman, put round things on bar, lift, pound chest.

Going into a Mk.6, I was hoping to not have to modify anything and just focus on keeping up with maintenance. I have my NA Miata as my toy, so I'm just looking for a solid daily driver out of the GTI. Never say never, I guess.
As far as the Mk.7, I've heard the same about the PP/diff. I think I'd really appreciate its presence, but not sure I can justify the extra 4-6k over the Mk.6, hence my post.
But thanks for the input. I think a couple of test drives will give me clarity...I hope.
