A Republican attempt to expand work requirements for federal food aid in debt legislation moving through Congress would increase federal spending by $2.1 billion over 10 years — far from the cuts GOP lawmakers had promised.
A compromise on the food aid requirements between House Republicans and President Joe Biden as the nation nears a disastrous government default may have backfired for the Republicans, who won the new work requirements in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for some able-bodied recipients in exchange for Democratic demands to drop work requirements for some other, more vulnerable recipients such as veterans and homeless people.
An estimate from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released late Tuesday said that while the new work requirements in SNAP would save money, the added benefits pushed by Democrats would cost more — and add almost 80,000 people to the rolls in an average month.

The CBO only scores what is given to them. Other externalities are not included. I personally never gave a fuk about food stamps. They could remove $21 Billion per year from military budgets and no one would be worse off. BRB build tanks the military says they don't need or want, spend $2 Trillion on new fighter jets that in practice aren't an improvement and have a million bugs in them still.
Weird priorities.Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

Clown chit really doesn't matter. Chit like social welfare and regulations do.
Congress gives itself a raise every fking year, but during high inflation, as they throw hundreds of billions to Ukraine and our military, they are cutting healthcare and food benefits to the poor. Fuk them. They have money for bombs and banks, but nothing for the bitches who serve them.

McCarthy was cutting backdoor deals with the Dems to get the bill passed lmao.
Principled libertarians like Massie just let it slide by.
This is 100% proof the GOP is all hot air. They just get cucked every single time, like Pelosi cucked McDonnie for two years to grow the military, so the US could fight in Ukraine.

Dropping work requirements for low income veterans is good. Many of us cant afford MRIs to prove we are disabled.
The proposal to impose work requirements for medicaid was down right evil. How is an injured person supposed to work? Do you know how hard it is to declaired disabled, without claiming mental issues?
Rich CEOs like Jeff Bezos work their employees in dangerous conditions, break their backs, and dont have to pay for it. Republicans then tell them to get a job or no medicaid.

The bill is packed with socialist and fascist policies.
Did any house Republicans even vote for this bill? If so, how many? I don't think it was more than a couple if any.
Everyone knows this opens the door for tremendous spending on socialist programs program. These bills have to be written specifically to prevent corruption, but instead they leave loopholes everywhere. In other words, all of this will be spent on climate and commie agendasOne party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.
Hayek and Mises were right; they're all socialists.
