Lagavulin 16. Tried it because of Parks and Rec, absolutely love it. Smells like a bonfire when you open the bottle, everybody will know you're drinking it and hate you for it, but I hate really peaty tasting scotch and that smoke just covers it all up. Delicious.

Favorite everyday is Laphroaig 10 yo. Special occasion Octomore. Currently have the 11.1 bottle. Ardbeg HyperNova is also another solid bottle. Favorite nonpeated is Glendronach 15 Revival. My current bottle list is Octomore, Ledaig 21, Ardbeg HyperNova, Glendronach Revival and Glenlivet 15. Need to restock some Laphroaig. Headed to Scotland in September and spending a few days on Islay.

I have paid out the nose to try shots of Johnnie Walker Blue and Macallen 12 before, and I didn't think they were much better than Johnnie Black. SRS. There was an improvement, but not a 5x improvement or 10x improvement.

Lagavulin 16, Macallan 12 (double cask), and Red Breast 12 are my 3 favorites. I usually go through phases where I prefer single malt or blended.
My favorite blended scotches are Johnnie Walker 18 and Johnnie Walker XR21. Blue label is overrated and overpriced. I have a King George bottle too, it's ok.

I don't keep a stock at home any more, but my go-to for a long time was the Balvenie 21 year portwood finish.
I've had a lot of different bottles - I lived in the UK for a few years, traveled to the Isle of Skye and Scotland too. There's something so soothing about some scotch and a nice fire inside, after a hike in that cold/grey weather heh. Great times.

My favourite right now is Bunnahabhain 12.
Would love to try to the 18 but not available where I live
Aberlour a’bunadh
Ardberg wee beastie
Talisker 10
Arran 10
Craigellachie 13
Laphroaig quarter cask
Benromach 10
These are the other bottles I have open right now.
Will be visiting Islay in the summer… very excited.
Also there are some ballers itt, scotch prices in Ontario are insane so I don’t do much of the older age statements

I gotta say lagavulin 16 and Laphroaig 10 quality really took a hit in the last 10 years, ardbeg uegadael also. Abunadh isn’t the same anymore either. Sometimes these distillers mix younger whiskey in there to meet demand. If I was some kind of an emperor, that would be an easy death sentence right there, lol
