Fair. Also at the elite level, one will struggle to find someone who isn't on the jooce. You can tell me USADA randomly tests people at 4am but I still believe most of them guys have taken PEDs at some point. You just can't compete and science is bleeding edge when it comes to getting chit out of the system come time.

That's what cracks me up the most about these Dagestani goatherders. If you're so "elite" then why the phuck are you killing yourself on the scale? Do they have such a low confidence in their "elite" grappling ability that they sh*t their pants to face someone their own size?
Funny how just one slight rule change in MMA will put that entire region out of business.

difference is they're actual professionals that don't miss weight over and over, and if they do then they move up a weight class. Not instantly retire after getting away with it in abu dhabi

He is definitely overrated. He had a good run but GOAT? lol not even close.
Half his fights in the UFC went to a decision
He won a vacant title via a scrappy decision win against Al Iaquinta who was fighting him on a days notice.
He missed weight/pulled out of fights multiple times
He would nearly kill himself to make 155.
Was terrified of Usman at 170
Missed weight again in his final fight, but lucky there was no commission because the fight was in ***** so they cheated the scales for him
Probably retired because he couldn't make 155 anymore and was too scared of Usman
Only 3 defenses.

Wow, you are one dumb ****git. Literally every sentence is completely retarded. I mean reread your post… Then look up who bisping even is. Look up who gsp is. And yea, i did get you with 41 you dumb fukk. Even today gsp is not old. He was definitely not old when khabib was active.
Just lmao at going back to look at my post history before responding in hopes of finding something to say. I may not be making predictions in ufc 284 but I sure as fukk made 100% correct predictions when khabib fought. With that reasoning, you calling someone a casual is like sasha gray calling someone a hoe. Your one post was enough to peg your dumb ass.

Your post is literally just raging saying I'm wrong, without any logic behind it
Lmao dude.
I didn't 'look in your post history', the thread I mentioned was active as this thread was happening.
How about you point out where I'm wrong instead?
Bisping was a weak champion, probably one of the weakest champions there's ever been. Guy knew it himself, do you actually deny this?
GSP himself has said he hates fighting, he came back because he knew he could beat Bisping. You can bet your ****ing top dollar he wouldn't have came back to fight Robert Whittaker or Adesanya.
You're an emotional little girl.

Big fan of Khabib but Khabib himself says Jon Jones earned that title.
Why do people pretend like Khabib is going around calling himself the goat? He himself has shut it down. He was in MMA to be a world champion and make his dad proud, he did his thing and moved on brain damage free. Good for the kid.

Actual judging criteria from the new Unified rules of MMA:
"Effective grappling is assessed by the successful executions and impactful/effective result(s)coming from: takedown(s), submission attempt(s), achieving an advantageous position(s) and reversal(s)."
This means you don't score based on having a dominant position or a takedown, but score based on the RESULTS that come about from having the dominant position such as strikes, damage inflicted, and successfully executed submission attempts etc.
Islam had back control but did NOTHING with it. He had no impactful or effective results that came from his takedown and advantageous position. He just held onto Volk like a teddy bear while getting punched in the face. Based on the actual judging criteria, Volk should have won the round.Last edited by Benji Snap; 02-25-2023 at 12:32 AM.

Good points here. Overrated depending on who you ask but definitely up there. I do agree with the fact that he had not done quite enough but there really wasn't anyone left to test him in LW after he completely ran through Gaetje, who had in turn run through Tony.
And OP, you're wrong about the GSP/Khabib thing. You seem to isolate it as a singular potential achievement. Just beating GSP is one thing, beating him with the backdrop of Khabib's LW run is something else. Since you're putting so much emphasis on the context of GSP's status--him being too old and beating a weak champ in Bisping--you need to put context to Khabib's record as well.
It's not just his clean record, and its not just that he was the longest reigning LW champ in history, or the fact that he cleaned out the division when it was arguably at its peak but it's how he did it. He dominated everyone and he only lost a total of 2 rounds in his entire UFC career. Even Jones was in trouble in several of his fights (arguably lost a couple).
Now, with that context in mind, if he went up to WW and beat not just one of the top guys there but the greatest WW of all time, who had recently became a double champ MW by beating a reigning big MW champ who was a former CR light heavyweight champ, you could absolutely make a case for Khabib being the goat. To deny this is to basically just an refuse to to be wrong on the internet out of emotional stubbornness.
Ultimately though, these arguments are pointless because Khabib simply retired too early. He was still at his peak in his last fight and he never ventured out of LW. Who knows what could have happened.

longest reigning lol bro that's the kind of stuff i'm talking about. Khabib fought once a year 3 times, so you're using inactivity as a talking point.
You compared him to Jon Jones saying that Jones was in trouble, yet this wasn't until Jones 6th title defense, Khabib has only had three. Jones was destroying people in every way possible. There was ZERO discussion of him losing until that Gustafson fight. Until then he had one decision against evans in which he won all rounds. Jones was a more dominant fighter than Khabib up to his 6th defense. He beat the best strikers and the best wrestlers of the division. Khabib hasn't dominated a wrestler because he hasn't fought any
Khabib simply doesn't stack up. Greatest lightweight sure, not in the goat category.
With your logic regarding beating GSP you're also implying that Khabib moving up to WW and beating a ranked 5 fighter makes him the goat, because that's around what GSP would have been.
If Khabib moved up and beat Usman then you'd have a point...Last edited by ninetynine8; 02-28-2023 at 07:55 AM.

you can't call Khabib the GOAT, he just doesn't have the title defenses and the big names on his resume as other fighters. Top 10? sure.

How could you even have him near your top 10?
Khabib has 4 title fight wins, 1 (or if you're generous 2) good wins before that. Outside of that list in the screen you aren't even taking Pride and Strikeforce etc into account. His resume shouldn't have him NEAR the top 10 even. Khabib has been the best in the world in his weight class for maybe 2-3 years. And it's not like guys like Al Iaquinta and Gaethje are world beaters.

Good lord, the reading comprehension here... I can't be the only one witnessing a guy actually go full retard here. You calling someone a girl is like a literal ball of chit saying someone stinks. You'll argue against all common sense with counters that completely miss the points made. Re-read what the guy wrote to you several more times.

He definitely is one of the GOATs. Who can fight at such a high level and not even manage to get a single scratch? he dominated most all of his fights in the first round or first two rounds.
People criticize him because he didn't fight at different weight classes.. Who cares? He played the game smart, and got out fast --and didn't become one of the 30 fighters who after debilitating injuries and health issues blames the UFC for all these things, such as not giving fighters health benefits, under paying them and still making money off showcasing their fights on tv, etc.. He played the game well.
I mean the way he beat Barboza alone was fuccin mastery.. I have never seen Barboza get handled like that ever before. The guy was a str8 killer in the octagon until he met Khabib.
He also is great for other reasons / character as a man/ faith to his family and religion , not succumbing to the lifestyle of partying or spending money wildly like alot of people do when they reach stardom.. Just look at Mcgregor.. the guy has almost completely lost it.."The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be."
Never Forget Zyzz Brah
