both should be good, but best to look at more professional reviews. This guy seems to rate the top end asus better than the nightwing https://dongknows.com/netgear-nighth...router-review/
I was researching since I bought one recently, but ended up getting a midrange asus since I dont game or do much really, so top would have been overkillthey / them

Get your Internet service provider to run a diagnostic up and down stream. They can assess issues from their end if it's some issue in the infrastructure. Because nowadays there are a lot of links in the chain so to speak. If it's all good on their end, I highly recommend a high end router. Anything with wifi 6 and higher bandwidth. Anything higher than 5000 should be good. Usually it says on the package something like 3200 or 5600 etc.

Try rebooting your router and modem, and cleaning any fans/vents on the devices.
The tech has improved enough where it is probably worth replacing a 5 year old router, anyway.
If you have streaming services, I believe only certain VPNs work well with them, which is something to keep in mind before going VPN at the router level.
I've had good luck with the TP-LINK Archer mid-high-end routers without needing a mesh setup anymore. Like 20 devices connected most of the time.
Edit: it might be worth logging into your current router and ensuring all security settings are in place. If you fiddled with anything, reset to default and then enable any extra security things on the router.
