Massive Twitch data breach sees hackers release source code, contributor payouts, and unannounced software
125GB of spreadsheets, code and confidential data.
As reported by VGC an anonymous hacker posted to 4chan earlier this week with a 125GB torrent link, which they claim contains the "entirety of twitch.tv, with commit history going back to its early beginnings."
"Their community is also a disgusting toxic cesspool, so to foster more disruption and competition in the online video streaming space, we have completely pwned them," the post reads. The hacker claims that the torrent file also includes:
- Mobile, desktop and console Twitch clients
- Various proprietary SDKs and internal AWS services used by Twitch
- Every other property that Twitch owns including IGDB and CurseForge
- An unreleased Steam competitor from Amazon Game Studios
- Twitch SOC internal red teaming tools
- Creator payouts from 2019 until now
Update: Streamers are slowly waking up and trickling in online to further confirm that the leaks are real. A report from the BBC has three streamers confirming that payout numbers from the leak is accurate, with streamers like Liquid Slysssa also corroborating.

Some of those numbers are insane. Brb make over $1million in the last 2 years for yelling, reacting, influencing. I'm obviously jealous but think it also chits all over any normal hard working, studious, educated citizen. Due to this reason I almost never subscribe or follow anyone, even if I watch their content. Phark them.

Yeah you may not be into watching twitch, But you've heard of it.
I find it hard to believe anyone who plays video games regularly in 2021 hasn't heard of twitch at all. Watching and using regularly sure to each their own, but to never have heard of twitch? Just lol. Full of crap or living under a rock completely. Half the online games out there today have links with twitch and Amazon for free skins.
So unless your only gaming is spent offline on a super Nintendo then no I don't really believe someone in the gaming section of a forum hasn't heard of twitch, at all, ever. Just me tho I guess.Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

When I was a kid my mom hated video games because she said I'd ruin my life over them playing them so much. I'd only play about 10-20 hours a week. Looking back I get her point. I could have just studied 20 hours a week and graduated from college by the time I was 16. You don't realize that chit when you're a kid.
Then I see adults that spend 20+ hours a week, week after week, playing games. Its like, bruh....the moms from the 90s called it.
I can't wait for the next gen of kids to write, sing, rap about their pos parents neglecting them due to videogames and phone addictions lmao.Boycott foodservice industry crew
