It takes a little getting used to, but I love it for squats. I used to use it for bench to but not anymore.

Cool. I just recently ditched the pin-pipe safeties on my rack and went with straps. A lot less loud in the garage now, lol.

It does appear Netflix has turned it more into a conventional with more character archetypes and 80's TV show situations. Seems to hold up though.

Hnnnnnngggg Mirin the mono, the barbell selection, and the new addition. Wheres you keep all the plates at? Also, how adjustable are the hooks on that mono?

Below is a pic of the other side of the room. Weight tree with 915 lbs of plates. Also have a Monster Lite rack, another flat bench, and adjustable bench (8 degrees decline to 85 degrees incline) and my set of adjustable dumbbells (5 lbs to 122.5 lbs) and a bunch of bands.

The mono-lift attachments are not bolted onto the rack like the original version. It goes on just like a j-hook but it has an anchor pin for safety, so it's fairly adjustable. Max height will be limited by the height of the rack and mine is only 70" but otherwise it's just as adjustable as standard j-hooks.

Nice, you have definitely invested the money into it and have a great setup. Looks like you made the most out of the space as well. lol I meant to edit that question out about the monolift hooks. After I posted I noticed you posted that you used to use it for benching but don't anymore. That pretty much told me how much those hooks would move


Do you deadlift in there? I see you got the mats down, but is the floor underneath able to take 500-600 pound hits on the regular?

No problem deadlifting. That room is in the basement. Underneath the rubber mats is concrete. It did having underpadding and carpet but I tore it all up.

Nice. I know guys that take their deadlifts outside but everything else they do in their gym.

Took all of last week off from the gym as a scheduled hiatus from my normal lifestyle and spent every day drinking booze and having cheat meals. I've never been more fired up to get in the gym and back to normal today. Funny how giving myself that week of gluttony to "enjoy" myself really worked to make me more motivated than ever NOT to over indulge on those things. Ready to dominate the next 12 weeks of my program.

Say, how do you like all them SML1s down there? I've had a cheapo power rack that held up just fine for 7+ yrs, but all but placed order on the SML-1. Think I'll get it. It takes away constantly moving barbells in and out, and seems built well enough (with the spotter attach) not to need the front vertical posts. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The SML1 is OK. I don't use it. I bought it for Mrs Flex so we can train together without all the hassle of unloading plates and raising/lowering the bar.

I have the SM1, which is much more robust. I've seen post online that compare the two and talk about the uprights being the same 3x3 11 gauge steel and that may be so but overall the SM1 is much beefier than the SML1 and so is all the hardware that goes along with it like the j-hooks, spotter arms, etc.

So now I have 2 racks (one with a pullup bar), 2 bars, 2 benches (one adjustable) and about 300lbs of bumper plates. a couple dumbells/kettlebells, heavy bag, and rowing machine, jump rope, and multiple bands. Should be good.

Not really. Started using one my last deployment and enjoyed it, so I got one for home. I have wraps and gloves and mitts. Wife and I are gonna start doing it together on "cardio" days

No snow? At least you won't need a heater. Looks like some nice steel. Both Rogue and Titan seem to be having extremely fast ship times. I was planning on 5-6 weeks and both companies are estimating delivery inside a week.

It's always seemed like the most leg-free cardio option in case you're doing squats all day, but I've never really heard of anyone using it for that specifically.

Swimming with a leg buoy is another option of course.

Nice. Weather in Hawaii looks identical to here so zero snow and forget about heating — you'd have a couple of fans blasting away in the garage most of the year.
