All games are coming for both gens, why even bother buying them for like a year?

Buying a new console at launch:
Do you have a good gaming PC? dont bother then
Are you a casual gamer? then you can wait
Do you not play many games to begin with? then you can also wait
Are you a poverty ******* that cant afford spending money on new electronics? then you can wait again until you get more money
But for the rest of us who have money to spare, or who enjoy gaming or who are tired of the current gen with its weak cpu's and underpowered consoles ... Then the new generation is a breath of fresh air after 7 years. Next gen gen games run better, and you are "next gen" ready. Yes, there will be cross gen titles, but the main takeaway is these cross gen titles still run better and look better to their current gen counterparts so its well the upgrade. The only question is whether you're wanting a better experience or if you can afford it.
I'm going to guess that the only people who really need to ask this question are those who have a good gaming pc or those who cant actually afford to buy one srs.Sig line can't be a novel

I pre-ordered the Xbox first, and then two days before it came out I went out and bought an LG CX55. Simply put the difference in my gaming is like night and day srs. I had the money saved up for years and I really needed a new TV anyway, and my Xbox One was on its last legs, so I needed to. I've never had a Smart TV so this is like a huge game changer for me.
But if you wanted to wait you really could wait a full year before hopping on the band wagon. Like you said, no real good games out just yet for either console.*Mechanical Engineering Crew*

never buy consoles on release crew
there will be a bigger, better, faster version with the issues of the original release versions fixed, more storage and for cheaper
also as far as good games go it's a barren desert, at least for xbox, don't know about PS, they seem to still give a chit about single player gamesAP5 / PRO-Fap

I know with XB1 a bunch of my friends bought the system immediately, I waited 3-6 months, honestly don't remember, but by the time I bought mine it came with 1TB of storage, free Master Chief Collection which was fixed by then for less than what they paid and I bought mine brand new. Honestly still wasn't worth it though, the XB1 is a piece of crap and there are no good games for it other than the remasters and MCC, which is a piece of chit at this point all over again.

As much as I want to pick one up, I'm going to hold off for at least a year until some real titles come out and there's actually a significant difference in terms of quality over the PS4 right now.
I've never been one to buy consoles at launch, I tend to always hold off, even with the Switch I waited well over a year and even then it still felt a bit too early.

No reason, both look like **** compared to even mid lvl pc's and there are no games worth anything right now. The only reason to get one is because you simply want one now or if you never had a PS4 and want to play some of those titles. In a year it will make more sense and there will be much better games. Despite what I just said hey, if you want one and it's your money go ahead and get one, it doesn't matter what I think.

Because they are twice as powerful as the upgraded mid gen releases, also full backwards compatibility, auto HDR, SSDs, quick resume, DualSense, etc, etc.... But if you have to ask you are probably pretty casual when it comes to gaming and then it may not make sense if you are poor.
Days Gone, you favorite game, is running at 4k/60 on PS5. How do you not see, that a significant difference? And that's a very simple upgrade patch. Look at the real cross gen titles like Miles and the difference is even greater.

I know that, I've seen the FPS differences on certain games, but to me there's not a big enough appeal to go out and scramble trying to get one immediately on day one. I'll pick up a PS5 and/or a Series X down 6 months or so down the road, my point was that nothing at the current moment blows my hair back, I'm more than content finishing the few games I have on the go at the moment on my PS4 and PC that I don't feel like I'm missing out by not owning a PS5 right this very second.

Got one ordered as of today through Amazon, will be delivered in a few days.
I got it because of the exclusives.
I have a gaming PC that I'm building on the side, and it'll fully run any PC game or Xbox Series X/S game due to Microsoft's push for cross platform compatibility. This means I can play with Xbox and PC players alike in most multiplayer games.
PlayStation 5 on the other hand has some games that are exclusive to its console, and not coming to PC / Xbox. Examples include Spider-Man, God of War, Demon's Souls Remake, Last of Us. And then some games have "timed exclusivity" to PS5, such as Godfall, which will not come out on Xbox for 6 or more months.

I only bought a Switch for current gen so I kinda want a PS5 lol. But I just checked my local EB Games and they have no idea when it'll be in stock. No point rushing to buy one when there's nothing exclusive to the next gen, anyways.
