I watched the first two sets on tape delay on NBC before their coverage ended. Too bad the match only got really interesting after that. Surprising it went five after the way the first two went.
I'm hoping we have a good final. Usually the French Open is by far the least interesting of the slams since it's nothing but Nadal winning three set matches over and over again.

Good things for Djokovic are that he has nothing to fear and conditions of play but it's still a RG Final; Nadal is the favorite.
At this point (even as a Fed fan), it's hard to see Roger as the best player among the three. Lack of fitness and inability to close out tight matches (weird for such a prolific tie break player) against anyone in the tour is going to cost him the slam race.
Even when it comes to versatility, overreliance on a backhand slice and serve really don't scream out adaptability to me.
Djokovic losing slam finals to Andy freaking Murray of all people and having regular brain farts at the US Open might end up being costly as well.
Overall however, looking back, Djokovic and Nadal have played some of the most epic matches on tour over the past twenty years.
Wimbledon 2018 SF for example was a truly special match; tennis won that day and unfortunately one player had to lose (Nadal).
I doubt we'll ever get to see such a physically gifted athlete with incredible sport specific skills like Nadal again for a long time.
When skill levels are comparable, the physically superior athlete will always have a massive advantage.Calories In, Calories Out.

Wimby 2018 and 2019 were choked by rafa & fed (srs)
Both had the chances on their racquet but props to Joker for digging in and run away with the win. Hate to see it but the list of matches he should've lost but won on grit is long. Tsitsipas is just the most recent chapter.
I'm expecting a Joker win tomorrow.

Blimey. It was shades of the Airswing open. Only the roles reversed.
I was watching F1 desperately hoping for a Danny Ricciardo podium and totally forgot about the tennis. When I switched over Djokovic had just been bageled. Nadal certainly got his revenge and handed out a 2008-esque beating. I expected it to be close but as I said from the outset wouldn't bet against a 12x champ. Never saw that coming. Enjoy the win.
