Looks like Rep will be releasing a PR-5000 half rack soon. I can't wait to add those spotter arms to my rack.

It looks great. I’m also really excited about their new 6-post rack dropping this summer. Apparently going to be outstanding.

pretty much a perfectly designed half rack - especially considering they have the lat tower attachment.

Not sure why others don't make half racks similarly simple

The Dynamic Titan half rack was <$1250 late last year. I needed the offset rear uprights so it could go up against the wall with plates + UHMW on the contact points.

This rack looks really good though. I would definitely get it over any Rogue half rack. Including sandwich J-Cups is awesome. Another nice touch is the upper storage pins are only 6" long. I have no idea why most companies use the 12" all the way up. Great way to poke your eye out trying to load a plate on one of the lower pins.

Yeah, I was comparing it to the Ultra Pro, because it haunts my dreams. I was quoted on the full Titan rack at under $1200 last year. The Titan doesn't have all the accessories included at that price like the Rep, though.

Exactly this. The price between the Rep rack and Dynamic Titan rack are very similar, but the Rep rack has the sandwich j-hooks and the neutral bar pull-up bar. I assume it has numbered holes as well. I'm pretty confident that the quality of the Dynamic rack is going to be top notch. Not sure about Rep yet.....they seem to be a little hit or miss on their first versions. Nothing too major usually, but sometimes it's the little things. Still liking the urethane DB's I bought from them though!

When comparing the Rep and Dynamic Fitness racks, keep in mind that the lower tier Dynamic racks aren't entirely made in the US anymore. The racks themselves are, but many of the attachments now ship from China. Most of the gladiator attachments (including J-cups, safety arms, and plate storage pegs) are from China, and I see they've dropped the "Made in USA" from some of the Titan attachments as well. It's a bit disingenuous when they state "Made in USA" on the main product page for a given rack.

Glad you guys like what you see so far. We'll have a lot more detailed shots later this week when the listing goes live. Blizzard in Colorado now that knocked out our power, so likely not until Friday.

There are some new features on this that are not immediately apparent from the Instagram photos, but will be coming to all the 5000 series racks this summer. A few highlights:

    1) The J-cups have a rounded bottom area so that the bar does not move after being re-racked. Many here had requested that type of j-cup.
    2) The j-cups and spotter arms have a dual wrap-around design for added peace of mind. The typical design is a single wrap-around near the top of the attachment, ours have one at the top and the bottom going in opposite directions.
    3) Correct UHMW used. Previous materials were a plastic that was prone to flaking. This doesn't.
    4) The uprights have laser cut numbers every other hole, just like PR-5000
    5) Spotter arms have laser cut hole markings every hole. Will be useful on some attachments in development.
    6) Weight horns now have a more finished looking rounded endcap that's bolted on.
    7) Capable of being bolted down.
    8) 1" holes the entire length of the upright for compatibility with other companies' attachments.
    9) Angled grip added to pullup bar.

Random: Packaging is in the process of being upgraded in a big way. This has the first half-measure, which is more foam added as packing material. The AB-5000 and 5100's already have many of the upgrades, so those who ordered those should see a lot of foam, a lot of ultra-dense cardboard, and hopefully product that shows up looking as good as it did when it left the factory. Look for more significant improvements as we head into summer for the entire product lineup.

The product is all here, including the colors, so look for the listing by Friday.

Totally agree! Rep continues to have me wanting one of the 5000 racks or now one of these 1/2 racks even though I already have a Magnum multi rack and a Magnum 1/2 rack.

This is true. My Titan spotter arms and j-hooks were made in China, but I was never able to put the USA made versions next to the imported ones to see if there was any drop-off in quality.

Just curious what you find restrictive about them? Prefer to roll the bar to the front of the J Cup or some other reason? I 've used regular and sandwich and don't have a huge preference, just like the weight of the sandwich hooks more but don't really care about the bar being kept from moving.

This is what I've always done for bench pressing. I also prefer a shallow lip, or one that has an angle that's easy to clear.

I can't tell exactly how Rep implemented it from the Instagram picture, but for squats I loved my old Dynamic hooks that did not allow the bar to move/roll once racked. They weren't as nice for bench, though. Dynamic doesn't make that style anymore, instead going with something more like Rogue's. Nothing can be worse than the York double bar hooks on my current rack. They are very short and have a 1" lip on top that you can easily rack the bar onto (very temporarily).

Looks like you will have different length weight horns now, and band attachments that bolt in?

I'm not seeing much that Rep didn't think about on the half rack.

Duke - is there UHMW on all contact points between the accessories and the uprights?

Legend's beefy cups and Dynamic's angled are nice.

The best I ever used were the rollers that Bench had on his UCS rack.

Speaking of those round sandwich cups, will they be able to accommodate the pipe diameter bars that seem to be gaining popularity? I was using my multi-grip bar this morning benching and notice it fills the cavity of my sandwich cups by quite a lot. What are the reps sandwich cups going to come with as far as opening size?

The "mouth" is about 2.5" wide, but anything beyond 2" diameter isn't going to seat very well. We'll still have the flat-bottom j-cups available for people who prefer them.

Unrelated to your new racks, but what are the chances a leg curl/leg ext attachment is in the works for your ab-5000 FID benches?

Duke, any plans to add a monolift to the accessory line? Would love one for my 3000 series rack.

Rack is now on the rep website with detailed pictures and a video. Looks great! https://www.repfitness.com/strength-...5000-half-rack

Love that it is 47" - well done Duke. Excited to hear more about the additional features coming to it.

Do you find that the lower band pegs can be used without bolting down? Sometimes half racks will tip backwards if there isn't enough support after the weight storage upright.
