I've been an Oak fan for a while now. He came on the scene with a lot weaker, and much sloppier lifts and he's gotten so much stronger and really cleaned things up. I'm happy he's back to high bar, since he can actually stand up with the bar now. When he was squatting low bar at BoB it was brutal, very strong out of the whole but poor balance and couldn't stand up straight.

Anybody see Steve gentili squat and deadlift? Called for depth and no lockout, and I have no idea why either were redlighted. He holds the deadlift at lockout for a long time as well.

This is the rare case of calls I really don't like. He started the lift when he was supposed to, he thought he locked it out, the head judge thought so to. He was given the down command. According to himself (at that point in time) and according the the front judge (the guy telling him what to do) its a good lift. Both sides call it no good.

I feel like side judges should have to call lockout at the end of a deadlift, like they do at the start of a squat or start of a bench, to eliminate calls like this. Head judge cannot say down until one side judge has informed the head judge its locked out from the side.

its just really annoying to do everything you're told to do and not get the lift.

His squat has looked groce the whole time I've been following him. Most of the time with squat and bench he is shaking so bad idk how he maintains control. He seems to be one of those guys who is naturally a beast and doesn't want to improve technique to reach the next level. When he went to super training mark bell told him he needed to change he technique and benefit greatly. Then he failed a deadlift how bell said he would. Looked like he worked on form for like a week then went back to how he used to pull and has been hurt ever since. Sucks cause I like him as a lifter.

Naturally strong + peds = big lifts without the requisite volume base and technique skills.

There's a reason why IPF single ply lifters/ex lifters usually have the best technique. When you can just bang grams of **** you can get away with more.

Pretty much agree. Not too much slop at the top of IPF stuff, but some massive totals without great form. But when you put all of those things together then you get those giant top 10 totals etc.

I think you can add luck of not getting hurt. I really think the biggest determining factors for a modern elite raw is

1- The money to get massages and stuff every week
2- Luck to not get any major injuries with the volume stuff they do

Dude.....they are amazing. Only jeans I can wear anymore and look halfway decent. Also last time I got clothes from Costco it was like 50 bucks for 2 hoodies, couple shirts, socks, and 2 pair of sweatpants.

100% cotton shirts are the worst, they shrink like crazy and I got a long ass torso which means they all become crop tops for me.
