Sorry on my cell. Not sure why it isn't quoting my repliesLast edited by Jesse_l_g; 01-26-2018 at 02:11 PM.
we have not spent the last 65 million or so years finely honing our physiology to watch Oprah. Like it or not, we are the product of a very long process of adaptation to a harsh physical existence, and the past couple centuries of comparative ease and plenty are not enough time to change our genome. We humans are at our best when our existence mirrors, or at least simulates, the one we are still genetically adapted to live. And that is the purpose of exercise. - Mark Rippetoe

Yeah, I wanted to watch it pull a phoenix, but it's just not making sense anymore. The environment that allowed it to be as high as my average cost was at won't exist for quite a while, and as long as I'm holding and waiting, that's a good chunk of change that isn't working for me in the market where literally everyone is making money. May as well take the loss and stick what's left in something that might be able to make some of that back up until it looks like an attractive play again.

It's amazing how someone can do this. The U.S. has such terrible privacy laws. I would love to opt out of being in any database on Google, credit agencies, marketing and ad agencies, or any other private company making money off of selling my personal information. They can pretty much do that in Europe but our government is for sale and those companies have huge and generous lobbies. It should also be illegal to use your social security number for anything other than collecting social security.
This guy even has to go to the DMV to get a new drivers license with a special code on it so that if he gets stopped by the police, they'll know he is the real guy and not the imposter. The police even want him to sign a release agreeing not to sue if he gets arrested, for stealing his own identity. Times like this I'm glad my credit score is in the sh!tter--nobody wants a piece of that.
ETA: He has LifeLock, called them and they said sorry, we are just a monitoring service. I'm sure there will be lawyers involved but LifeLock has been around long enough to know they aren't responsible for anything. I don't see how this could have happened with a monitoring service watching his credit.Last edited by DualRectifier; 01-26-2018 at 02:07 PM.

I've only had a card stolen. It was a card I had for emergencies only and wasn't used. A woman in France tried to buy $150 worth of shoes with it lol.

I could be wrong, but I really thought that SKS were like a $300 rifle. The stock is under $100. And the grip pod and red dot are garbage.
I agree. We definitely feel due for a correction, but I've sort of felt that way for at least a year now while we've done nothing but moved ever upward. And after the tax cut, it feels like it's still full steam ahead. I'm sure it's bound to happen sooner or later, but I have no idea when that might be.Misc Firearms Crew

I’ve got to add $5000 ($2500 in each) of my and wife’s Roth IRAs before April. Probably going to put that in the crap money market mutual fund Andrew let it sit making a couple percent and wait for the drop. I still have all of my bi-weekly money going into primarily low cost S&P funds - black rock.

Play stupid games....
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/01/26...ities-say.html
Sherman Lackland, 21, was at E’s 24 Hour Cafe in Memphis on Thursday morning when he and two others were playing the “No Lackin Challenge,” according to Fox 19, citing a police affidavit. The game, according to the document, is when “people get into fake arguments” and draw their guns at one another.
But Thursday’s incident ran afoul when Lackland allegedly fired his handgun by accident, shooting his 17-year-old friend in the right side of his head, according to the affidavit. Police said the teen was brought to the hospital in critical condition and was eventually “downgraded to extremely critical.”Baltimore Orioles

A buddy sent me some pics I had never seen before from our deployment. Taken by this stupid ******* retard reporter from the New York Times that was embedded with us for a bit.
This is a MICLIC, which shoots a rocket with a bunch of C4 attached to it, blowing a clear path from IEDs or debris. That's all I know about it since it's an engineer thing, but we had a few of them launch for us.
This particular case we had route clearance come out after we detonated three or four IEDs ourselves and then one go off on an Afghan vehicle.
Just thought they were cool and thought I'd share.
I have a video of one going off somewhere on a hill, but I'd have top dig and upload, not happening lolMisc Firearms Crew

Just got back from my mom & dad's. Mom called me and said she needed me to come over . . . because dad was being "wicky wacky". They only live about 15 mins away, so I got their pretty quick. He was really confused, apparently. He didn't recognize that he was home and didn't recognize "this woman" (his wife) and wanted to go home. I guess he was really mad before I got there and my mom got a little scared.
He recognized me right away and I was able to reassure him that he was home and that this was his wife and got him to sit down and talk/relax. Then got him to get ready for bed and he was pretty much back to normal. Now I need a drink.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*

Hey all, anybody have any recommendations for a solid pair of American made work boots?
And Taf, it sounds like an episode of mild-moderate delirium. I hope all is well, keep an eye on him!Last edited by Murk Mags; 01-26-2018 at 08:15 PM.

It's hard man. I came home for lunch the other day and my dad was just leaving the house. He said he was just going to the Home Depot down the street to get a toilet. 5 hours later he's not home. My brother and sister went to look for him and he's asleep standing up in a random isle no idea where he had been. Brought him home and he's sleeping in the yard refuses to come in.
Every other day occurance here.MFC
