They technically are athletes though. You don't have to be famous or even a professional to be an athlete.
Like someone else said, the Public Figure title is the one that rustles me the most."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

This isn't even a gendered thing. A few weeks ago there was a thread about NFL athletes not being able to bench as much as some 'average benchers', and in there a bunch of us destroyed the idea that someone who just benches is 'more athletic' than an NFL pro player.
But leave it to the Misc to somehow always make this about 'sloots' when IG has plenty of guys pushing low body fat percentages using gear to try to express their 'athleticism'. Just lol.

Because social media degeneracy, and because people are idiots and enable them.
It's the same with the guys: celltech, lift weights, keep a nutrition plan, post some motivational crap with leased cars while frowning like Jaden Smith and bam, you're suddenly some kind of mysterious badass who puts D-Day soldiers to shame.

I noticed this too. There's probably a few reasons why, honestly I think naivete is the main reason. "Hate the game, not the player" is never more relevant than in social media.
fwiw, Arnold is probably more relevant to fitness enthusiasts than some random IG model who's aesthetic af but whose main skill is posting social media. The latter also rarely has accolades or accomplishments other than their follower count and sponsors.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

totally agree, but your second paragraph is player hating. i mean it russells me too. at least train people and show the progress of the people you have trained (some of them do that).
IG model not even close to the top of the list of scumbag professions though, at least they do no harm.do not read my posts and weep, i am not there i do not sleep

People just need to open their eyes. For example I don't hate on Justin Bieber anymore, partly because he was handpicked to begin with and also because he's just playing the hand given to him. People think that the cream always rises to the top so they get pissed when things don't jive with that concept, like a chitty Canadian singer who's talent is doing a supermodel pout at cameras.
You can criticize a person's methods and suggest a different path, but don't act surprised when you see some Jeff Seid making six figures off posing and pushing supps, or Sommer Ray making money off shaking her ass in a 6 second Vine. That's just the superficial way the world is.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

Not every post. I checked my CP just now, 4-5 were for standing up for someone/calling out hypocrisy, 3 were just straight up WKing, a couple "lol", a couple "agreeing" reps, but a bunch of them are just repping me back because I've been doing Merry Christmas reps to low reppers.
Runners are definitely athletes. Not many people can even run 3-4 miles without stopping. And it's actually a useful skill to have. They said she's gone too far this time

How to be a fitness IGer. Be good looking and don't eat chitty food while going to the gym. Oh yea, post about 5 'progress' pics a day to make sure people see it if they didn't catch the first 4 times you posted that day.

If you look at the video comments it is amazing how many women eat that BS chit up.
For me... you have to be one bad ass mofo in order to inspire me. People like Arnold and David Goggins who came from nothing and fought their way to the top is what inspires me. Douchey people on instagram with douchey motivational statements make me cringe hard.
