What actually happens, is the instructor makes you do all of those in a sequence, so for example, he will shout out ''drop down and do ten burpees,'' so you do them, and before you get to the last one, he shouts another exercise to do. So, you're not getting any breaks. But, he does give a two minute break after the first 20 minutes. It was really tough tonight, but just feel so accomplished right now!
Thought for the day - There is no improvement without adversity and struggle. I struggled tonight through some of this, because you want to get the movements right, and controlled...yet keep up with the faster pace of the circuit. Challenging, and definitely worth it. Nothing worth having comes easy. Not just a cliche, there's truth there. Keep pushing, a little more every day.

Run
Today, Friday - 11/3
Went for a run after work, and it was truly awesome. I added sprints, and had a great energy throughout. Never know sometimes on Fridays, after a long work week, how my runs will be, but I was really happy with today.
Distance: 5.5 miles
Time: 52:01 minutes
Thought for the day: "It is a mistake to try to look too far ahead. The chain of destiny can only be grasped one link at a time." Winston Churchill
Totally agree but it's easy to get lost in looking too far ahead, and thinking that our goals are too big to achieve. One day at a time, we can do that. Daily goals are so much easier to handle, and pretty soon, many days will lead us to the ultimate goal.
Song of the day - Skillet ''Bangarang''
Superfood of the day: almonds, kale and spinach
Nailpolish of the day - (I change things up for fall)
Tomorrow - 5x5?
Thx for reading!

Going to the gym today, but might want to take in a yoga class after. I really love yoga, it's challenging, depending on the class and instructor, and becoming more flexible can help you in other areas. It's also good for the mind.
5x5 planned today, and then we'll see what happens after. Such a beautiful day outside, I'm tempted to run after.
Have a good Saturday!

5x5 plus short run
I got through the 5x5 workout, but my mind wasn't there. I don't know really what was up, but I guess it's because I haven't really done a 5x5 workout in a while, it just felt off or something.
Squat:
85x5
85x5
95x5
95x5
95x5
Deadlift:
75x5
85x5
85x5
85x5
85x5
Bench press machine (you sit straight up / not sure how these numbers transfer to flat bench but it's like doing a 90 degree angle incline bench?):
25x5
25x5
40x5
30x5
30x5
WG Lat pull downs:
55x12
55x12
55x12
55x10
55x8
Bicep alternating curls:
4 sets of 10-12 reps using 15lb db's
Cardio - 20 minute run
This pic is from the last time I ran 5x5 during part of spring/into the summer of this year. I haven't taken glutes shots since the summer, but there isn't that much change, considering I'm doing a lot of bw squats and lunges in my circuit class. It's not easy to take glutes shots. :/
Have a great weekend, y'all!Last edited by whatevergirl; 11-04-2017 at 05:33 PM.

Thank you daylight savings time, the extra hour caused me to get so much done today. Bought new glasses, went to a bookstore, made chili for the week, and went for a 4 mile run.
Perfect day was perfect. My legs ache a little though from yesterday's squat session and today's run...almost perfect.
Back to the grind tomorrow...

I wish I have the same problem. It's all belly for me. Butt is a flattering place to be storing fat. Your Sunday looks super productive! Do you normally wear glasses or contacts? I wear glasses too.. but take them off for pictures most of the time because glasses look too nerdy on me.
They said she's gone too far this time

We all have our spots where we store fat, so weird.

I only wear glasses for computer work and reading, mainly. So, they're off most of the time. Hope you had a great weekend!

Circuit (bootcamp) class - 45 miinutes
45 minute circuit tonight of:
bear crawls
held bear crawls (you don't crawl, you hold the position upright)
lunges
squats - regular and sumo
push ups
jumping jacks
hip thrusters - one legged and then together
pendlay rows
over head shoulder raises
front lateral raises
side lateral raises
*some of these are done in isolation, some as part of a circuit with a few exercises strung together, if that makes sense
It went really well, pretty happy with it.
Here's a stretch I dislike, but it's a fave in this class as a warm up:
If that were a pic of me doing the stretch, she would have a sad face.
I get vertigo at random times, and some of these stretches, I lose my balance because I get dizzy.
Thought of the day - I changed my mind today about how to view Mondays. It's the start of a new week, new opportunities, new surprises, new goals. Instead of thinking of it as a drudgery, I'll start viewing it with a more optimistic mindset. I had a great day because of that attitude shift. It's all about the attitude.
Another thought of the day, my thoughts go out to anyone who was affected by the terrible shooting in Texas over the weekend. I'm not really into politics, and hate when people take tragedies and make it about their political agenda. It's just so sad and pointless, all of this violence, lately. Life is so fragile and precious, let's not lose sight of that. <3

I have a Kindle, too. For the classics, I prefer having the paper in my hands.
That sad stretch is a classic yoga pose, extended side angle with an upright extension modification. It's good for opening up the torso...good stretch though it bothers my lower back a little sometimes.
Thanks about the new avatar. I took that on Saturday when I was taking a picture of the interior canon of a manure spreader. The lens was pointed at me when I turned the phone's camera on, so I went ahead and took that...oddly looks more like me to me than any of my other pictures."Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1

Why are you using a manure spreader?

It's not my manure spreader. I farm but not enough to need a manure spreader.
It belongs to the dairy farmer next door. His property is across the side road from my property, so when I go for walks, I walk past his corn, pastures, dairy cows, manure spreaders, tractors...all that. We call that piece of machinery the "poo canon". LOL
Are you on ********? I'd love to show my farm's page to you if you are.
I don't do enough yoga. I always forget about it...the one thing that really, really helps my SI joint."Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1

I deactivated my FB, just too much showy fakeness for me.
It would be so cool to own an organic dairy farm. I never knew you farmed, that seems like it would be incredibly rewarding!
I got back into yoga a few months ago, and it's challenging yet helpful all that the same time. It's good for the mind, too.
