shoveling show can be a nice enjoyable thing, depending on the snow and how much you have (you have too much, btw) but i do love being snowed in from time to time. glad to hear you're all bunkered in and enjoying yourself (sorry to hear Sherman is miffed at the snow).
anyhow the shoveling is functional activity, not like that useless weight lifting you do in that gym![]()

Nope, but the rep count was astronomical. Lower back is really tight today.

Not to beat the collagen thing to death, have you ever tried taking it? When googling I found some evidence it helps.
The other really weird one for ra that I found is a castor oil poltice. Basically place warm rag on an area to open pores, remove, then take a castor oil soaked bandage and wrap area tight. Wrap plastic wrap around that. I think you leave it on overnight. Quite a few people swore by it.

Wow, A day off
don't believe I have ever seen that in here...
I wonder how many young guys in your neighborhood were questioning their own masculinity seeing you out their at your age manually moving multiple tons of snow the "old fashioned way". I feel the same about snow blowers, would be nice to have when needed, but the need for me just doesn't justify the garage space it would occupy. We have not even had a decent snow yet this year. If I was on the other side of Lake Michigan near my work I would have one though, they lake effect snow can be pretty intense..Wet and heavy.

I think the last one was a couple of years ago when I was called out of town unexpectedly to help deal with a family-related crisis. After three days of shoveling snow, I thought it prudent to give my lower back a break (no pun intended). I'll jump right back on my routine tomorrow.

Considering the location of my driveway, even if I had a snow blower, there's just no place to blow the snow back in there. And the close quarters might cause me to hit the vehicles with the machine, a definite no-no. That's actually the biggest problem when dealing with that much snow---where the heck to put it to get it out of the way.No brain, no gain.

Ironwill2008 V3.0
Hey, OT. I felt pretty good when I got up this AM; no lower back soreness at all. Got back at today:
Back to work today. And despite feeling well-rested going in, everything felt really heavy. Today's training was:
Barbell Lunge
95x5 W/U
185x5 W/U
225x3 W/U
265x3
265x3
265x2
Dumbbell Row
50x8 W/U
105x8
105x8
105x8
Smith Machine Flat Press
95x10 W/U
135x10
185x10
225x10

Completed this session in an hour. As already mentioned, every load felt like a ton; I was very happy to have managed to get the reps that I got. Lunges didn't advance, but they also didn't pin me to the floor. I'll consider that a victory.
Met reps-across on DB Rows again, so I'll bump up a nickel next week and see what I can do with more weight.
Also reached reps-across on Flat Presses again, but will stick with the current 225 for now.
Nothing else to report, other than I'm glad this one is in the books. After a rest day tomorrow, I'll close out the week's training with Romanians, Curls, and Dips on Friday.
Post-WorkOut meal was eggs, bacon, fried spuds, toast, and a glass of milk.
No brain, no gain.

Thanks, G. It's been a week and a half since I trained with any substantial weight, and I was a bit surprised at how heavy everything felt. In the second warmup set of Lunges (@185), I actually got under the bar, lifted it off the j-hooks, and then re-racked it to check to see if I had overloaded it by accident.
EVEN better to see eggs, bacon, spuds with some Franks in the mix. This is making me hungry as per usual lol.
Hey, thanks for the comments; they're appreciated.
My wife cooks all the meals containing eggs posted here, and I cook the others. I'll pass along the compliment to her.No brain, no gain.

I know what you mean, although, there have been occasions after the nightshift I have found myself pressing 2 completely different dumbells...lol.
I seem to be Franks for fried/scrambled eggs and Sriracha with boiled/omelettes. I might have to switch it up and confuse my body into burning fat and gaining muscle at the same time.Eat the damn yolk.

Man that's a lot of snow. We've been fairly lucky around here so far this year. I just spent a few weeks in British Columbia this month and it was t-shirt weather most days. Here in Ontario not quite so much but we've somehow avoided mass snow falls so far for the most part.
Just curious are those vitamins in the pic? I could just be very unobservant but I've never noticed them in the food pics before so was just wondering365 255 480 in April! ...2019

LOL. That's exactly what I did, too!
Bacon & Eggs FTW.
No idea what the weather will bring, but we've had significant snowfall here as late as April in the past. The Accu-Guess Weather Dude says there's more snow coming tonight, but should be limited to only flurries. The Dude was pretty proud of himself for actually predicting that big storm last week, and I'll give him credit for getting at least one forecast right, but I'd think something that big (the huge snowstorm) would be pretty easy to see coming.
That was the biggest snowfall we've had here in several years, Dave. Officially, it was 18 1/2 inches. And it's cold enough that it's probably going to be on the ground for quite a while.
You'd think that the farther North you get, the more snow you'd see on a consistent basis, but that isn't always the case.

Which is exactly what I did when I heard my wife say, "It's on the table!"
Yep, it sure makes things 'inconvenient' for several days, especially if one isn't prepared for it beforehand. But for myself, I love the change of seasons, and wouldn't be happy if the weather were the same all the time.
Different strokes, I guess.
265 on Lunges....beastly work....Bacon & Eggs FTW
