spot on im only 20 but i was blessed with social ethics and dynamics that remind of my parents and their parents, what im trying to say is my generation is ****ed in that we have all those basic needs but we are not real or deep or emotionally connected with each other anymore, we can be in a room filled with gold and 1000 instagram likes with 3000 FB friends, but inside we know and feel very empty since there is no deepness or meaning to all these connections, everytthing is superficial or mundane, nothing inpsires trust, warm, affection, love or care among people my age we are very much in the verge of social dynamics collapsing compared to how they were a couple generations ago, feels bad man, last generation that actually played outside with others

08-19-2015, 08:16 PM #631we are all from nothing to something and then back in to nothing when we cease to be, the middle ground is that tiny something we call life which is just a sunset setting in, yet we chose to see it like a sand clock dragging on for what feels like a thousand eternities, what makes the difference is how we live that tiny middle of shifts, rejoice and embrace the most of it for the short lived moment often goes by wasted .-

Constantly worrying about $$$ and lack of social interaction would be the big two IMO. I know they are for me. They are kind of correlated as well. No spending money = limited ability to go out and socialize with others. How can you live your life when you constantly have to worry about chit like that?

- People don't socialize normally anymore; they sit on their asses liking stupid **** on ******** all day
- social media/technology has made it so those who "have" can show off their wealth and lifestyle so you have people who see that and want it and have an unrealistic expectation for what their own life should be
- college degree is like a high school diploma now; even if you want to be a single income household you better choose wisely on that degree
- extreme political correctness has turned people into fearful drones in the workplace
- student loan debt, credit card debt and being house poor are more common... Before credit cards you couldn't dig yourself into that hole and tuition wasn't astronomical

as much as standards of our lives has improved, our priorities in life are different than previous generations. i am telling this living in a western world society.
we all have decent:
-shelter
-food
-standards,
-affordable luxury
so when you have all these easy, u look for more material happiness, by material, since ur not hungry or thirsty, have money to buy certain affordable lifestyle, u look to make urself happy by upgrading them.
diminishing utility theory: u love ur new car today, u will love it tomorrow bit less, and next day a bit less. and this will go until no utility is achieved.
also having a stable, routine life makes everything very very boring. u want happiness, time to time sadness in ur life, which trigger ur emotions. once u dont have those u become depressed.
i dunno thats how i see it and i try to remind myself every day the things i should be grateful for, to remind myself to appreicate what i have and how lucky i am. or else i would not see the positives and always concentrate on the negatives.235pounds to 168 in 4 months. 35% BF to 19% and counting lower every day. it is doable as long as you put your mind and soul into it and discipline. We all are going to make it.

Humans beings are social animals.
Going from living in a band (50+ close social bonds within a living space)
to a multigenerational family (10+ close social bonds within a household)
to a nuclear family (1 other social bond with an adult in the houshold)
to a loner society (1 roommate, maybe a friend if you are lucky)
is extremely stressful to a social organism.
The solution is fairly radical, try to get more of your family to live with you. It is more acute stress, but much less chronic stress, and chronic stress is what makes you depressed and kills you. When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

Was recently with my cousin and he was telling me about some girl he is talking to that made a Twitter post saying "you can never trust people 100 percent.." or some chit. Cousin said he took his friends side over hers and she went full fukking drama queen and posted all this chit on Twitter/Instagram/social media. She was mad he didn't take her side even though she may have been wrong (I don't know exactly what it is about I didn't ask) so she turned it around and made herself seem like a saint and made him look like an ahole. It just rustles my jimmies how women can get away with this and get the sympathy of ******* WK men.

I think he is somewhat correct.
It is true that a chemical imbalance can result in depression, but that does not necessarily mean that the chemical imbalance is fixed and permanent.
Gene expression is found to be affected by your physical and social environment, there is absolutely no reason to believe that your neurotransmitter output cannot be. The real issue is, in a culture addicted to popping pills, even raising this issue will lead to accusations that you don't care about the depressed, despite the mountains of evidence that even something as simple as taking a walk through a forest daily can have a positive impact on depression and "chemical imbalance".
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21503628
The imbalance is the symptom, not the cause. When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

Stressing out about potential layoffs and I just got a house
Stressing out about studying and having to achieve so many goals to "make" it. Education, certificates, gym life, eat proper, sleep on time... so many things.
When is there time for a social event/gf? Can not even imagine having a steady relationship...

There's your problem, find yourself a project. It may not be a job. But find yourself a project. Like a business project of your own: which will make you study the practical side of whatever it is you wish to make, be creative about what you'll do and how you'll get clients, etc.
Miss Peas.
I disagree, will expand below.
What do you hate about humanity, what do y ou hate about yourself?
Everyone ITT, read all of Mr. Red's post, srs.
This.
LISTEN UP BRAHS
Do you remember when growing up, as a kid, you'd hear older peeps, like your older cousins, uncles, grandfathers, etc, complain about society and how it was ****ed up? How youth was coming up to be a complete disaster and that in "the good old days" it wasn't like that because _______.
It will always be worse. Life will always be harder. Life will always suck.
But, it can be better as well. It can be more and more fulfilling. Life can be a complete transformation for the better, year after year.
If you think it sucks, you're right. If you think it's (and/or can be) awesome, you're also right.
99% of you are blaming outside factors for depression.
You blame other people, you blame the media, social media, the government, feminists, the weather, your girlfriends, your father, your mother, your country, your city, the weather. Literally. Look back and read how everyone blames everything and everyone but themselves. You are probably right though, ALL of these people/things are at fault.
But you can also "blame" yourself. Blaming others is the most unproductive chit you can do. If you say, "I'm depressed because of social media", it ends there, there is nothing for you to do. Because it is something/someone else's fault. But if you "blame" yourself, you can change.
It is your damn fault for being a little girl following so damn much social media. Look at your goddamn self, don't you have anything better to do? ********, instagram, twitter, snapchat, periscope, tinder, fukn whatever. And all of a sudden it's the social media's fault? Is it the fire's fault for being fire and you letting your hand burn on it despite it hurting? Yes your mother/father/whomever might have hurt you as a child, you have seen the darkest of nights as just a child, and that is sad and ... evil. But it's been years now man. It's the fukn past. It's like driving looking at the rear view mirror. The mirror is so small, you make it hard on yourself, and the view ahead is huuuuge, the possibilities are endless.
What do you want to do?
Do you want to get a date with a nice chick? There are two options: a) Do nothing b)go and try. If you do nothing you'll feel bad and go into the loser tense (what if), and will feel sorry for yourself and try to fool yourself and others because of why you didn't go. Key word is "try", you're not fooling yourself. The other option is to go and try and ask her out. I won't lie, you probably will fail. But you won't go into the loser tense, and you'll learn, and do it better next time.
LOSER TENSE
Loser tense is the fantasy mental fap tense. There's past tense, present tense, future tense, and loser tense. "If __ had _____". That's loser tense bro. You learn from your past tense, live in your present tense, and dream, plan, seed your future tense. The loser tense is that, for losers.
MANDY
We've all been in love with this chick called Mandy. With big breasts. You're in fukn love with her. You find out she drives a blue old Honda. All of a sudden, that blue honda model is the BIGGEST SELLING CAR EVER. You see it EVERYWHERE, you can't fukn escape it. Because you have her on your mind so much. You all are in love with hate, anger, unfaithfulness, depression, poverty. You see it everywhere. And it's ok, you're not hurting anyone but yourselves. But you can also be in love with love, opportunity, joy, frienship, faith, richness, future, love itself. So choose to be in love with love.
YOU WILL FAIL
If you try and get a date with that nice chick, you'll fail. 99% guarantee lol. Srs. You'll most likely fail, in one way or another. But you workout right? You go to the gym? What do you do in the gym? You do sets right? Let's say it's fukn chest day. You lay down and lift the weight and put it up and down. You put it up and down until what? Until what? Until you fail. And you fail about 4 times per exercise, so all in all you're failing about 20 times inside of the gym. You fail 20 times in one single day, in maybe an hour or two. Do you feel like crying? Do you hate the world? No. In fact, it literally is making you stronger. While you recover, your muscle gets stronger. Each time you fail at the gym you are closer to reaching your PR. But all of a sudden, you step out into real life, and suddenly, if you fail ONCE in something as lulzy as getting a date with a nice chick, all of a sudden life sucks, the government hates you, your parents hate you, women hate you, and you want to die.
So next time you hear people saying chit about "the good old days". Realize that to many people, THESE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS. Why not make them your good ol' years too?
If you ever feel like you need someone to talk to, I'm always here for you.
First read all that, realize that all the solutions are inside of you, right now. And most of the times, you already know what you MUST do and what you MUSTN'T.
Once you've read this, you'll see others justify why something is something/someone else's fault. Let them be, you be the greatest you can be.★★ HELEN SMITH crew ★★

Dog has been poisoned by a sick**** some time ago, nearly died from it. He came through it, but ever since it happen I keep him in the house so no one can harm him when I'm off to work. But everytime I get home, he absolutely destroyed everything. I have like a hour and half of cleaning to do after work. I'm actually scared of what I might find broken or destroyed or what the house will look like when I get home. :/
