Nice to see some more ladies on here! Welcome
I was very drained this week-end and ate a bit extra on Saturday, about 300 cal or so, fresh bread, butter and jam! I just needed the carb it seems.
-- 23 days of IF so far.
-- My average cal last week came to about 1575 cal a day. Not too bad. It feels like a lot though, hard to say. Scale is all over the place!
-- 3 days at the gym only due the sickness at the beginning of the week. Lifted 3 days and no cardio day.
-- prepped yesterday: tilapia with veggies (6 svg), chicken with sweet potatoes (5 svg) and 5 baggies of fresh veggies.
-- planning on 5 days at the gym this week! Strong Curve week 8!

Dropped a few pounds this past week trying for two more before holidays start on Friday knowing they will jump right back on but I'm going to enjoy beaches and ocean and good friends THEN time to kill it when we get home.

Still at it strong. Had a cheat meal over the weekend for the first time since Dec 31. Steakhouse fillet, cooked Pittsburgh rare. (It was my birthday, so my wife arranged a nice dinner). I ate light that day in prep for it though.....but did not know she was planning a get together will friends after. That turned into quite a few cocktails...... so needless to say, I blew it that night. I was hungover enough the next day that I probably made back up for it though . Hey....cant say no to your good friends! Was my first drinks since summer time.
Went in the gym tonight with nothing on my mind except making myself not feel so weak. I had to shake the feeling I was a weak little kitten . Nothing does that better then some deads. I have not deadlifted in a few months....maybe even 3...so I did not know what to expect.
Not my best ever performance....but not that bad as drained as I am feeling.
135x5
225x5
315x5
405x5 (all considered warmup)
495x1
Put a belt on
585x3 and could have ground 4, but did not trust my grip...nor my callous which was about to give out.
I then dropped down to 495 and dropped the belt and did 10. Then down to 405 and did a set of 10 SLDL. That is all I really needed...... I dont feel like such a pu$$y now
Had to take my belt in a notch. Had nothing to push against.

I'm still in & lifting but I'm not sure whats gonna happen between now and June.
Just got back from my EMG test. Before I even got off the table he told me that there is a problem in C5. Next is my MRI.
I'm pretty bumbed out...... Ive been through hell with surgeries and now I'm looking for another one. This will be my 4th recovery to go through in my less than 3 years of lifting. Btw, none of my problems are from lifting.
This sucks !!!!!!Last edited by JimmyJonny; 02-11-2015 at 02:41 PM.

WARNING: The following post is about my boob job… if this topic offends you… stop reading here!
Hey y'all… just checking in for the first time since surgery. I'm healing up well! I was instructed to stay out of the gym for two weeks so I'm following doctor's orders. As for the pain… I was off the pain pills after only a few days but I'm still taking the muscle relaxer at night because of the muscle spasms. I don't even notice them when I'm up and going all day… but trying to sleep at night is horribly uncomfortable. Next week we are going on a family vacation so I won't be back in a normal routine until the last week of February. I can't officially "lift" for 6 weeks anyway so I may as well just chill and enjoy the time off.
First impressions… when I came to after surgery and saw my chest, I wondered if my doctor had mistaken me for another patient… perhaps a porn star named "Bunny" who wanted triple-F-sized fun bags. Yeah… I was a bit freaked out. I've now come to understand that, due to swelling, they will appear HUGE at first but will "shrink" down to a reasonable size over time. What a relief!!
Btw… ^^InB4 "pics or it didn't happen"
Anyhoo… glad to see how many are participating in this challenge and I can't wait to get back on track myself so that I can pursue my own goals!

Checking in
So those pics above 140 after my bulk/
I am down now to consistently 131-134.
I chose a very experienced coach for this prep/ its an expense but I want primo results and normally I am doing it mostly on my own. I start with him in two weeks.
So here are some cruddy pics from today. I lift hypertropy, 3 body parts x 6 days a week. Just added three days of HIIT. Will be 14 weeks out this weekend.Last edited by MilaGroski; 02-12-2015 at 08:04 PM.

Mila, who are you using as a coach this year.
Well good news bad news.
Bad news. Ate poorly last week. Stressed over work and what's going on due to low oil prices right now. (Oil patch electrician)
Good news. Was able to barbell squat for the first time in over a month tonight. Knee issues. Able to hit 3pps easily. Think I'll try 355 next week. It's not your beliefs that make you a better person, it's your behavior.

Cutting coming along well..... Almost 8 weeks in and will be taking a few week planned break and then I'll be going right back at it! I'll be a little early for June....but I am going to be ready for early spring!
I have stopped getting on the scale 2 weeks ago, and am just going to go by 'feel' from here on out. (For those that know me, it is not really like me...but I am learning to be less regimented and living more of a flexible lifestyle). My guess is I am in the low 200's down from 227 Jan 1. I am supposed to compete in a powerlifitng meet to represent my gym in early april. Kinda tough to train for it with the dieting....but I am just going to 'wing' that too!
Cheezy vid.....but hell, show what ya got! Another month deiting and people might accuse me of being a 'bodybuilder'. (You dont often catch me doing dumbbell curls......)

Looking strong ID! Nice vid.
Funny to be taking about diet break but I finally convinced myself I need a real full one.
I have not had a real 2 wks diet break since my last beach holiday 14 months ago. I took a few days here and there of not counting but I've been under maintenance and counting for that long and I'm stuck.
Been done much reading on it (Lyle MacDonald, Aragon,..) and I think the break may help.
I have no idea if it will work but what the heck, I have to try. I'm still maintaining IF but I'm on day 2 of eating to fullness and no tracking.
Planning to keep the break for 10-12 days while keeping up the lifting.
Feels really weird and scary** Marie **

I am not sure we are talking about the same thing...... I dont see where you could have been on a deficit for the past 14mos? Is that correct? That is nuts...
For me I like to diest as little as possible. When I say "diet" I am referring to eating at a deficit. I have never gone over 12 weeks, and like to stop at 8-10 most of the time. Trying to lose all your fat at once is too expensive from a LBM standpoint. Over the past 4 years, I have done a series of cuts and been able to steadily reach lower and lower bodyfat levels. The cool part, is i pretty much stay there (visually) as sub-q fat is so much less biologically active, one typically pics up the VAT first with plenty of time to adjust cals before one goes to looking like crap.
Yes, if eating at a deficit, it is often beneficial to eat back up at maint about every 10-12 weeks for a few weeks. I dont see you as having that much fat to lose, so I would run a small surplus (250cal range). Then go back to dieting if you want to. Either way, looks like you are very close. There is no denying the growth you can get coming off a extended deficit. Take advantage of it! Eat!RAW lifts

Thanks! Sounds like what I was thinking about.
When I first came on here, I was eating at 1200 cal with not much change in body comp. Kimm suggested I slowly increase to find maintenance. So I did and stayed at 1800 for a good 4 months with no change in weight.
They I went down to a 200-450 deficit for 14 months with a few days here and there when I ate more on special occasion. I keep telling myself that I was not seeing change because I was not counting right (and maybe that's true).
Cliff: I need to take a 2 week break. For my sanity anyway
My students have been treating me to chocolate for valentine's day so I'm enjoying in moderation!** Marie **

Going into the 3rd week for me and 3 pounds down. But i feel much leaner than 3 pounds, lol!
Lots of cool stuff going on in this thread!
we are changing macros and will be changing workout programs at the end of the month as well. Macros will be 130p/115c/40f... so a little more fat. I am only doing one cardio day at the moment.
I have soooo much homework for tonight, so I am going to get to it. 14 weeks to go!!!www.bikinisandbiceps.com

Thanks, taking it one pound at a time as usual.
My overall degree is healthcare Admin... I am excellent with paperwork and I enjoy the field, i just dont want to be sticking people with needles or all of that. I am actually fine with it in animals like pigs, cows, dogs... but on humans.. cant stand it, lol
My class for this month is Chronic and Communicable diseases, its really interesting, a lot of work, but fascinating. My research paper is on obesity.
Next months class is culture and health which should also prove interesting.
All of my certificates and personal studies have given me a solid foundation for my classes, so dont let it be said those count for nothing while i love the fitness industry and will probably always be in it to some degree, i dont see myself being 50 and having it as a main income source. I dont see myself keeping up to the same level I am at now for 20+ years. I can see myself in an office doing paperwork and bossing people around though!!!www.bikinisandbiceps.com

Interesting pacing of classes - I take it this program doesn't have the traditional semester scheme, but packs more into less classes in a shorter time frame? I'm also in the study of chronic disease and obesity (molecular bio) and am backlogged on class stuff too, lol. Good luck getting it done!
I have been stretched thin this past week dealing with being sick along with having extra work work to do. Especially sucks when I have to teach for 6 hours (two labs in a row) while popping tylenol to keep fever down and warning the kids I'm sloppy contagious but you all need to learn and lets all wash hands a lot, mkay? And have to give a presentation tomorrow when my cough just might be in the "cough attack" phase (ya know, red-faced and tears streaming down your cheeks not able to talk straight for 5 min, but waving your hand and gasping "it's ok...cough attacccck" when able). Prepared for the worst and all, ah well. Needless to say, cut has been pretty much on hold for this week.
But at least I managed to get to the gym today after almost a whole week of not lifting. Was not expecting much, but ended up with an OHP PR, and we all know those are hard as balls to come by, so had to share Top set (97.5 x 2) at 1:08, as lots of sets on vid.
Gym PRs:
SQ: 360 x 1, BP: 165 x 1, DL: 330 x 2, OHP: 110 x 2
Best meet lifts (raw w/wraps):
SQ: 365, BP: 155, DL: 350, Elite total of 870 @165
Closest thing to a log, but better cause it's vids! = www.youtube.com/user/birdiefu

Nice work all, 9 weeks in for me down about 21lbs
Start 222lbs
Today end of week 9 200.6lbs
14 more weeks to go. Will likley take a diet break at some point but feeling at a small and fat awkward phase so likely try to get through this part first. Then 2 weeks at maint and try to hit some previous PRs, really smash it and back to the grind.
