I think the fact that you're doing a syte load of cycling is helping big time. Back in my RECON days and training all day for hours on end with little to no food, we'd pound down like crazy when we had the chance and really gained no weight from it mainly because we're expending so many cals, like you are when you're riding.

“The Teds Tot Challenge!"
The Video
Coming soon!
The Location:
“Players Bar and Grill”, San Marcos, CA
The Challenge:
5 Pounds of “Sloppy Tater tots”, creamy cheddar cheese, chili, Philly Cheesesteak meat. Topped with sour cream and 2 fried eggs. 30 minutes to finish, or I had to fork over 35$!
.
The prize:
Name up on the wall of fame
Meal free
T shirt
Eternal Glory!
Final Thoughts:
So tonight I took on Players Sports Bar’s “Teds Tot Challenge”. 5 pounds of delicious, cheese filled goodness! The funny and most notable part about this challenge is that it’s RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE! I’ve been searching around San Diego for remaining food challenges and was made aware of this only a few days ago, so I just HAD to go and take it down!
Only ONE person has done this before, he managed to finish it in 29 minutes...You have 30 minutes to finish the challenge. So I wanted to enjoy it, but not go too hard too fast. The plate/food were weighed and it came out piping hot, I could tell that I was going to be able to take it down.. it was just a matter of what time it would be done.
The challenge was simple, I actually had a few of my girlfriends fries during the challenge. The cheese was HEAVY and disgusting, seriously though.. I had to put ketchup and ranch on most of the tots for it to actually be somewhat appealing. After I got bored of that, I ordered a sprite just to switch up the flavor profiles.. but I gutted through it and got it done. In 18 minutes I had this bad boy down! I wasn’t going for speed, but I’m sure if I was.. it would be done in under 12-15 minutes. The best part about the challenge was the meat, it was cooked perfectly! The nastiest part of it was (of course) the massive amount of cheese and chili. But I still enjoyed it nonetheless!
Stay tuned for the video!
Finished product!

No I don't have a bike, however we( wife and I) will be getting one in probably the next few years as our daughter is gonna be learning how to ride pretty soon. Son already knows. I've got a couple of friends that have rode the trail from Pittsburgh to D.C and back which cuts right though our town. So I can easily ride that for a few miles.
From Cumberland to Frostburgh Md is 20 miles round trip and the frist to is a steady clime from 627' to 2070'OG

That challenge looks pretty good indeed, it's just too bad the cheese wasn't all that...it doesn't look quite tasty in the pictures to start with (meat seems to make up for it though...hnng I'd love to taste it!).

Loved watching that video man. I agree that nacho cheese would have been much more enjoyable than cheddar, but cheese is cheese. Also, nachos are BOMB.

Alright, so it's been a HUGE past couple of days for me..
Still a little "frazzled" mentally right now, but I'm just so excited and happy that I'm still trying to piece everything together in my head, lol. I've been pretty distant from the log and most of my usual "online stuff" quite recently, but that's just something I wanted to preface this post with. The past few days have been CRAZY. As I'm sure the few of you still following along this boring journal have read, I did my food challenge on thursday.. moving my TOTAL to 11 wins and 1 loss (in san diego of course). Which was HUGE for me, obviously I've already posted about that already.. but still, it was something that I was proud of and has been buzzing around the work place among my co-workers, which has really made me smile.
---
Which brings me to my job/work...Things have been DEATHLY SLOW at the shop ever since the new year started. There have been days where we've literally had 3-4 customers in the entire store. Only generating a few dollars of actual revenue, no bike sales, no service orders, literally NOTHING being done. That being said, one of my close friends/co-workers was let go because of his lack of sales and some other issues. And it hit me hard, this was about a week ago. Basically, the owner of the company came into my store (we're local, have 6 stores in SD) and basically bombarded me with everything.. lit a fire under my ass, and told me that I needed to start making things happen. That was a few days ago, and today.. was my BEST DAY in sales that I've had ever since starting this job. Started just like normal, but as the day progressed.. more and more guests came into the store.. and before I knew it.. I was at 3,000$ in sales. Which is pretty much TEN TIMES the amount I normally sell in a day! I got two BIG service orders sold and managed to get 2 huge bike sales today.
Today really hit me hard, made me realize how hard sales jobs are, and how much I need to be consistent and improve.
---
AND ON THURSDAY I DID MY FIRST EVER CENTURY!
(For you non-cyclists, that means 100 miles on a bicycle)
Totally spontaneous, totally something I just never thought I could do. And I friggin did it. I'll never forget the feeling I got when I got home and dismounted the bike, it'll be with me until the day I die. That was no easy feat, and I'll never live it down. Was on the bike from daylight until dark.. and it's something the average rider USUALLY has to train months and months for. But I did it, and KILLED IT. Put all of my effort into it, and with power.. determination, and some intra-ride carbs.. I DEMOLISHED THAT RIDE!
-----
Headed into the gym today after a LONG day at work. Still tired and sore from the century, the food challenge, and this massive day of being on my feet. But I put in work, got some cardio in and I'm ready to get back to the grind tomorrow! Working 50 hour weeks right now and am trying to get these classes balanced out, but I've never been more happy and motivated!

If an owner is taking the lack of sales and traffic into the shops out on employees, I feel as though the owner needs to reestablish his standards on selling bikes (and maybe thought process). It's typical for this area of business. You go through frequent lows because not a lot of people are wanting to come into a bike shop and drop a few hundred+$$$ every day. In addition, once you buy a bike, most people never purchase one again.
If I were you, don't act like it's your fault that the store isn't receiving as much service as the owner wants.Blog:

1. welcome to business, trust no one they'll stab you in the back ASAP.
2. There's reasons as to why sales are slow...a. it's after the new year and folks are done with XMAS shopping and pretty much tapped on cash. b. It's jan/feb...sales typically pick up after April when folks get their refunds and the weather starts to improve.
3. Now that you did that...it's going to be expected time and time again.
4. your owner is a dik

I guess I should've worded it differently. The owner is one of the nicest and most down to earth people I've ever come across, she's just a bit uptight right now and overly pessimistic about the way we've been as a store. Things have been tremendous though over the past few days!
