SOTD: Dior Homme, for the first time ever.

Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnng is the word. Finally wearing it, I think this is as good as DHI, in fact the smell is extremely similar so much so that a passer by would not be able to tell the difference. I own the reformulations so can't comment on the original versions.

I'll have to try 1899. I picked up 1725 and it is great. Also want to try 1740.

1828 is also pretty good with the eucalyptus note. I received a sample of 1740 with my order, will post my impression once I sample it

Valentino Uomo is similar to Dior Homme Intense, definitely worth trying for those that like DHI. Unfortunately for those in the states I think I saw it won't be stateside until 2015.

Don't really care for this one. Rather tobacco Vanille or Eau Des Baux for winter spicey scent.

Some expensive frags have less expensive frags that have a simillar vibe, though I don't think you will be able to capture the exact scent unless you actually buy that fragrance. There are several stand alone inexpensive frags that are well regarded as well.

SOTD: SOP for Him


I'm pretty sure SOP > Aventus. However, I think that one spray of Aventus layered with two sprays of SOP would be a great combo; will try soon.

I did this with Aventus and Bondventus, the bondventus was still a bit too synthetic. Gotta get me some SOP as it sound like it would layer perfectly with Avebntus expecially the extra smoky batches.

Im not a fan of the DH series, but DH is definitely more tolerable than DHI.

Price does not necessarily correlate to better. There are a ton of cheaper alternatives that smell good. Fill out the form on the OP so you can receive suggestions of what to go smell and then you can decide what you like and your correct price point.

Aventus for niche, Chanel Bleu for designer. A wildcard is La Nuit, but I've had a few people say they actually didn't like the smell at all. Many more compliments on the first two.
