I wish we could combine The best attributes of schiano and flood. Schiano was a fantastic recruiter and motivator whilst flood is a very good X's and O's guy. The team is so young, remember mike teel was utter dross until his senior year. This is a young and talented team, bitter now, but the future is bright.
Still don't get why they didn't bench nova tho, his deep ball is worse than chad PenningtonYNWA

I actually am in the minority and will say Flood is doing a good job. Yes his play calling is very conservative, but rightfully so. The two times he played not to lose the game in the last two games was when Nova decided to go into his shell. If you think about the situation with less than 2 minutes left in the game last night, you have the ball and 3 times outs, but Nova already had like 5 interceptions that night (even though the stats book shows 1, we all know it was 5 if the defenders could actually hold onto the ball), he can't throw a deep ball for his life, you are running on your back up kicker, no one on your offense has confidence right now...AND VT just put together a really good drive so you they have the momentum.
Now in that situation you could be very aggressive and try to win the game with an ailing offense that will likely just turn it over again and give the ball back with VT still having 2 times left, or you play it conservative and have VT use up their timeouts and trust your defense, who has been rock solid all night, to hold up for about a minute or so (which they did).
So I for one do not blame Flood for this loss at all. Let's look back at our season. While Nova was playing well, we were doing great. Minus the first half of the Temple game, our offense performed very well for the most part, Nova was making his throws and barely getting turnovers. Then Jamisons injury hit and all of a sudden we are in Pittsburgh and Nova just decided to go all Mark Sanchez on Rutgers. He sucked the Pitt game, he sucked the Louisville game, and he sucked last night. Now although the WR were also at fault for the Louisville game, but for the most part, Nova sucked ass towards the end of the season.

Tough loss last night. This game could have gone either way, we were very unlucky that Federico missed that kicked. I'm not going to blame KF for this loss, if that play was made he's a champion if not he's the biggest idiot ever so whatever, it happens. I was really impressed by Gary Nova. HUGE improvement over last year. He look so confident in his throws. I cannot remember one bad decision from Nova last night. He had a few easy runners that he missed (brandon coleman in the first Q for example) but overall Nova stepped up. Brandon Coleman also performed really well and will be a huge weapon for us this season. Leonte Carroo looked very promising. I'm looking forward to him playing the next 3 years and will be pushing for him as he's from my home town.
Defense needs to be able to handle the pressure when it comes to no huddle. I was cringing with pain on that one drive in the second Q when there were like 15 penalties and that dropped punt that resulted in Fresno State scoring. If Rutgers could have just held on to the punt (and not committed penalty twice on 3rd down conversion), they would have had a huge margin going into the half and the game would have been completely different. They were dominating but that horrible defensive drive just gave Fresno the momentum they needed.
Nonetheless, I'm very happy with their play and I think they are going to have a very good season to set up for the move next year.

I agreed with the 2 point decision completely. When your defense is showing you absolutely NOTHING to give you confidence they'll be able to make a stop, the best bet is to just take it out of their hands. It didn't go our way, but oh well those are the breaks.
I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

Exciting game to say the least. Both teams very sloppy but rutgers were the clutch ones in the end. Heartbreaking on this end with the rest of our schedule lol.
