Motorcycle Shop Manager checking in. 8 years in powersports, 2 years in sales/finance/managing. Riding experience ~20years.
Let me give you some options.
Solid Starter bikes by category:
Sport: Ninja 250, Ninja 300, Cbr 250, prices range anywhere from1500-4k depending on age. All look cool and are great to learn on. The new Ninja 300 is the "fastest "of the small sports.
Metric (Japanese) small cruisers: honda rebel 250 (small, dorky, good gas mpg, cheap), vstar 250 (same as rebel only a yamaha), suzuki gz250 (similar to rebel/vstar) prices between 1k-3500
Metric mid size: honda vt750 (looks cool, can cruise hwy speeds, dependable), vstar 650( appears bigger than 650, but still light/easy to handle), suzuki c50 (800cc "larger" small cruiser, good looks), vulcan 900 (also appears bigger than actuall cc size), price range between 2500-6K depending on age and condition
Harley starter: XL883 (coolest looking, biggest aftermarket, easiest to make "fast" for a small cruiser, best resale), price 2500-9k depending on year/model
Just remember not to fall in love with a starter bike at first because you will soon want something bigger and better. Buy preowned if you can.
Good luck.*Misc Firearms Crew Illuminati*

My primary care is no longer my primary care because the old goat is a ****ing idiot. Every time I went in I asked for blood work and an x-ray but he would always say it's not needed. You have this BUG or that BUG that's going around and this Rx should fix it. After the 5th or 6th visit in a months time I finally said **** it and went somewhere else only to hear the same BS. I heard the same thing at each and every doctor I visited over the course of 5 months. What I hate the most is that they try to treat the masses instead of the individual. It's much easier to collect a $20.00 co pay from me, bill my insurance a couple hundred bucks for my visit, write me the same BS script they did for the last 50 people before me, and move on to the next person in 5 mins or less.
My old primary care would schedule appointments ever 5 mins from the time the open until the time they closed
$20.00 co pay per person (if they have insurance and it's decent)
$180.00 bill to the insurance company
rough estimate of $2,400.00 per hour if they fill all time slots
rough estimate of $19,000.00 per day if they filled all slots for all 8 hours they were open
rough estimate of $90,000.00 per week is all slots are filled
rough estimate of $4,000,000.00 per year if all slots are filled
The whole health care system pisses me off in general and is just as crooked as our federal government. BRB the cost of good to GREAT insurance in not really affordable for the average middle class family. BRB the care you receive for the amount you pay is ****. BRB **** Obama care. IMHO If you really want to fix the health care lower the cost of treatment(s), lower the cost of Rx(s), lower the cost of affordable insurance ($2,400.00 per month for my wife, my daughter, and myself), and make it harder for low life scum to sue for medical malpractice / make punishment for medical malpractice stricter.
RANT OVER
all my lifts went to ****
BRB flat bench dropped from 405lbs 1RM to 280lbs 1RM
BRB flat dumbbell press dropped from 150lbs (1-3 reps) to 85lbs 1RM
BRB shoulder press dropped from 150lbs 1RM to 90lbs 1RM
BRB legs are so sad I don't even want to talk about them
In all honesty it was very depressing and I just recently returned to lifting again. I went from fat and strong as **** to just fat but in time all my strength should return and soon I will start cutting again.

79 z50, more than you can afford pal...
The cbr500, ninja 500, gs500 and buell blast all fall into a mid sized entry sport. All better "sport" bikes than the ones listed above yet not even the same level as the super sport 600cc bikes. They are all great starters. Just remeber you are going to want to sell it soon so don't over spend on a starter.*Misc Firearms Crew Illuminati*

We aren't tacticool enough for him. The funny part is I'm sure he'll sit around lurking in the thread wanting to post again but knows no one wants him around.
