thank ya sir
Audie, we gotta get rich or die crying!
Dan, show me your ways. I always tell people that at times (especially after back day), my back feels like a previously balled up piece of paper. it's starting to get better now that I go EXTREMELY easy on my back. it really is more like a arm session on "back day". she was bad in january, but seems to be getting better. it's just an iffy situation because it seems like if i make one wrong move, then it all starts over

You can buy LTC here: https://btc-e.com/ I'm not sure, but I think you need bitcoins to pay with, you can buy bitcoins here: https://mtgox.com/
Mining isn't complicated technically, but you do need a decent PC with a good Radeon graphics card, anywhere from HD5850 and above should be good to get you started
If you're sporting HD68XX, HD69XX, HD78XX or can get one used for cheap then you have a winner. Btw nVidia cards perform about 50% worse on mining, so don't get them, and CPU based mining is about 70% worse..
If you mine on your own PC, you either have to reduce the mining rate to a fairly low level or just take into consideration that you won't be able to use it, because it won't be able to perform any other tasks in reasonable time.
Like I said I'm thinking of building a rig by buying a dirt cheap used PC, and then throw in there a good (used) graphics card, and let that run 24/7. If Litecoin goes up the investment will be returned easily..
Maybe I'll write a guide and post it here or the misc to get some serious discussion going
Oh.. your 'friends' huh..

The Elysium trailer came out yesterday. This looks like good sci-fi from the writer/director of District 9. Starring Matt Damon.

ASIC machines are very efficient at mining BTC (bitcoins), and they are going to get very popular soon, since now the value of each bitcoin mined (~$240) is well worth the investment of about roughly $2.5K for a decent ASIC machine.
People are going to get full ROI in next to no time and start making sh!tloads of money very soon with those machines. Now since people are going to be racing to get those machines, difficulty is going to rapidly increase, making even the strongest PC's
essentially worthless in terms of mining.
LTC (litecoin) is a different story for now. First of all the value of each is only about $4.5, and people are still not sure if it going to catch on like Bitcoin did, add to that the fact that to mine LTC you need a slightly different machine than BTC minner
(different algorithm, don't bother with that now), so you will need someone/a company to find it profitable to design, build and sell those ASIC LTC miners. This is not going to be happening until LTC starts going up in value, and then there will be a few
months before production version of those machines are in.
This is why now it's a good time to mine LTC with your PC assuming you believe LTC's value will rise, because you can only get about 25-50 LTC per month per PC, at current value that's not much, but if to goes to a $100+ value, as bitcoin did, then you'll be making
a nice profit cashing it in.
Like I said before, you can take the shortcut, and buy litecoins directly, and the just wait for its value to go up. Once mt.gox site will start trading LTC, I seriously think things will get crazy, and I believe they are going to start LTC trade as soon as they're
done milking the BTC cow of the current gold-rush.
Nioce server, but unless it has a bad arse GPU (which most servers don't), any PC with half assed Radeon card would outperform it.
GPU mining >> CPU mining

mid 70s today and back to mid 40s tomorrow. yay!
LTC was at 4.80 yesterday high, was going to buy but then decided against it. Will wait a little while longer.[̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°̲̅)̲̅$̲̅]

It was already at over $6 and fell. It was the same with bitcoin, can't tell if/when things will skyrocket.
Trade/sell them for Radeon (AMD) card/s, nVidia cards aren't nearly as efficient for mining, which is a totally different thing than graphics computation.
