I don't know how they pulled it off --they don't have any York weights in their gym.

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I have never seen such narrow "rings" before. May we see pics of the rest of the bar?

York-marked (wide ring) on the left, unknown (narrow ring) bar on the right.

The two bars that I have are identical to Stasher's bars.
My first reaction is that I had two different York bars. Surely, over the years, they made slight changes.
Can anyone date these bars based on what we see above or shall I or Stasher forward pics to York for fun?Home Journal: Me vs. Myself @.....http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=125942203

I bought a rusty DP set off CL last fall & came here to learn how to refinish them. After reading threads like this one I searched & found this set was sold through the JC Penny catalog. It's an exact copy of the York design: plate castings, spin-lock collars, split-sleeve bar. York must have licensed it.
If you look closely at your plate you'll see it's stamped "TAIWAN" just below the hole. All of my plates have the concentric lathe marks.Last edited by llanoEST; 02-04-2013 at 03:12 PM. Reason: screwed up the quote like a newb

The original lettering on the deep dish was it white or silver ?
I finished the letters with the silver

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?
