thats how a lot of paul carter's programming looks
also about the shoes, most powerlifting shoes are ugly as fuk. He is prolly just gonna make a more attractive looking shoe in place of them. As far as i know its either oly shoes with a big heel, a shoe like chucks or those ugly powerlifting shoesbest lifts
Squat 410
bench 315
press 185x5
Deadlift 420

Initially, sure. After the first three to six months, that isn't always possible. We're still talking about increasing ~1%+ per workout. I don't know of any advanced lifters that are capable of legitimately adding 2-3% to their max on a weekly basis. By definition, they wouldn't really be advanced lifters anymore.
One of the most common reasons for "early" stalls on SS is that people do not microload their upperbody lifts and their power cleans. FWIW, and I know it isn't much, I'm a certified SS coach and I've discussed this topic with Rip. In his 20+ years of experience using this program and its variants, he believes that jumps even as small as 1# can be useful on the overhead press. For the bench and clean, his limit is 2# and he doesn't go below 5# for squats and deads. Again, take it for it is worth.www.PowerliftingToWin.com

Fair enough, but the popularity of the program speaks for itself as do the results. I know of more than a dozen people who finished the program, all within a single year, with numbers like this: 405+x5x3, 315+x5x3, 500+x5x1. It took me only 8 months to total 1225 on SS. Naturally, I'm a proponent of the program even though I do not necessarily think it is ideal for powerlifting.

All we need is more shoes. Reebok already has a crossfit/oly shoe
Riptoe already designed an altered weightlifting shoe with slightly reduced heal for squats
Inzer/Titan/crain have "power" squat boots with a raised heal
We have a variety of weightlifting shoes to choose from
Metal has a nice flat shoe good for squat and dead lifts
Then the wide variety of flat shoes from non-powerlifting or weightlifting specific designs like chuck's, ballet slippers, and wrestling shoes. My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

Our ancestors from long ago did everything barefoot....that may not be feasible today due to germaphobes and what not, but if we could get a shoe that could get us as close to barefoot as possible.....that would be perfect. Some unique trait to is and we got a Million $$$$ idea....Let's get on it guise.

01-29-2013, 06:02 PM #3738It'd be like staying fat while running marathons because it's more impressive to finish a marathon when you're overweight. It might be impressive in the short run, but in the long run it just doesn't make any sense. ~breathinglife

My oly shoes happen to have purple trim. So they match with my purple striped socks and "u mad bro" tshirt. Total coincidence.

For anyone that has not bought the titan rehband knock-offs, consider it carefully - they seem to have quality control issues.
