According to a 2023 article , hemoglobin levels of 6.5–7.9 g/dL can cause severe anemia. Hemoglobin levels of less than 6.5 g/dL can be life threatening.

6 is nearly dead. You're supposed to be at like 13 or higher. My dad is having trouble with this. Whenever he falls below 7.5, he's basically a zombie and sleeps 20 hours a day until he can get to the doctor to get a couple units of blood.Originally Posted by N0rds
