Personally I think it's got to be Andy Dufrain in Shawshank redemption... shame the youtube videos cut the first minute or so... it goes like:

I know there are a lot of people that will say this doesn't even belong near the top 1000, but to me this scene, watching the movie for the first time several years ago, was absolutely awe-inspiring. It is definitely something that has to be seen within the context of the story, but when it is, man is it good.

thank god. I just checked out a web page called "100 best movie scenes", and there were about TWO scenes from films in the last 15 years... titanic sinking and the matrix bullet dodge.

I hate old movie snobbery as if the acting, film quality, audio quality (lol) or plots are any better than the best of recent times.

I decided to post this scene, because personally it is one of my favorites. This is a great movie, and this is probably one of the best scenes I have ever seen. I'm not sure if you can appreciate it as much, without having seen the movie. Or maybe you can? I don't know.

But its really good stuff.
