In 2020, Trump famously predicted that “the stock market will crash” if Joe Biden became president. Biden did, and equity investors have since turned a handsome profit.

Since Biden took office, the S&P 500 stock index has risen a healthy 40%, capped by a five-month rally that kicked off last October and is still underway. At the same point in Trump’s presidential term, the S&P was up just 13%.-----

The S&P is a wild boy. From when everything got shut down in mid March 2020 to 10 months later, the day before Biden was inaugurated it had gone up 65%. It goes to show you buy when there's blood in the streets.

Exactly how disingenuous is it to compare the middle of a global pandemic with Biden?

And where are you coming up with S&P only up 13% from Jan 20, 2017 to May 31, 2020? The S&P was actually up (even after the initial Covid drop) by 28.6% ($2,297 to 2,955). If you look at just before the Covid drop, Trump's S&P was at 47%. Suddenly Biden's 40% doesn't look that great.
