Its not important, its just a good option to begin with and gain experience in compounds and strength.
Learn the correct form for all the exercises there is no issue, however you dont NEED to do it...

These are my macros BEFORE dinner on a day to day basis, virtually the same every day except dinners, which are probably around 400-500 cal, usually mainly protein.. any input on what needs changing...
It might help in a way because when you lift seriously you watch your diet and get all the nutrients you need, as opposed to not lifting and maybe undereating.
It's true man, I always go in and psych myself up for a new PR on bench, do a few warm-up sets then quickly run over and whack out a set of squats
