A beginner's diary

“A Beginner’s Diary” was published in Bodybuilding Brazil in 2008 and reports the preparation of a young athlete that decides to compete for the first time. Searching For Motivation

First of all Count this a disclaimer ** This is not a motivational post, but instead an admission of a struggle for motivation ** I started out at 270 LBS in November of 09 at 30% body fat! I cut to 195 @ 13.0. Unfortunately, I got so excited that I started getting extreme, and eating...

Out till Jan 20th. Writing to motivate me to pick it back up.

I’m writing this, since I just got back from the doctor with bad news. He told me I have mono and to take off lifting for six weeks. So November 1st is when I'm supposed to get back into the lifting! I was thinking it wasn't the biggest deal of the world, since I think I can handle withdrawal for...

Thumbs down Injuries effecting motivation

I had a pec strain a while back and let it heal up then just recently 2-3 weeks ago I strained my tricep from not properly warming up. The only good to come from these strains is I was taking 10-15minutes before and after my workouts stretching and warming up and realizing how important it is to do...

BEYOND frustrated.

Well I must have one of those weird body types. I've tried to guess endo-meso but i'm not really sure. It seems that I either have to be huge and bulky, or small and skinny fat with moobs. My biggest problem is this. My bench absolutely flew up the first 6-8 months in the gym. Every other...

Today hurt...in a good way!

Well start of week three on my new routine and today was HELL. Pushed through it though and the feeling of almost throwing up and knowing I still managed my routine makes it all the more worth while! Now to just hope my arms don't drop off! LOL!

Back after injury

On Thanksgiving 2008 I fell down a flight of stairs. Ruptured 3 disks, broke s1 into 5 pieces, had surgery. Yesterday, I felt motivated and pissed off. Squatted for 1st time since. Felt great! Thank God! I thought I was done with squatting forever as it turns out it can only keep me down....

Dealing with a crappy workout

So I'm doing Starting Strength where you have to progress each session. Today had to be one of the most crappiest workouts I ever had, absolutely no focus, no intensity and my performance was pathetic compared to other workouts even though I tried my best. And on top of that I couldn't even get...
