    Bench press!

    Hey dudes, I need some help regarding bench press. I've just bought myself a bench and have started doing barbell bench presses. I thought this new equipment would help me build up my chest however, I don't know if it's working. I mean when I do all my other body partsI always feel the burn and know my muslces are working. However, after doing 5 sets of bench presses I feel as if my chest has been doing nothing.
    Are my chest muscles benefitting and I'm just not getting the 'burn' or is there something up?

    well check your form for one. check out the fit show on chest training. also maybe widen your grip. if its too close, it works more of your tris and delts. you could also try dumbells.

    also, how long have you been doing this?

    Well I used to lift weights when I used to play rugby, nothing serious though.
    I literally started again 1 week ago, I've got most of the oher exercises spot on, I mean I can feel the burn and know that my muscles are being used.
    However, after bench presses I feel nothing chest wise.
    Although I do get alot of burn on doing dumbell flies.

    Yeah

    Just as above keep your hands a bit wider then your shoulders and bring the ball all the way down to your cest but don bounce then bring it to top I personaly dont lock my elboes but you can if you need to. Do 3 sets of 10 with more weight too, just have a spoter it is ok if you dont get through the whole 3 sets just bite you lip and give it hell I say you should see something in a few weeks. If that all fails try more weight it takes time.
