Yesterday I decided to have another shot at crushing an unopened Pepsi can with one hand. Last time I tried, I managed to crush a Coke can with two hands but missed the Pepsi one hand crush.... not this time though!!! I finally got it
Here's a few still shots from the video clip from my website.

Titania, i know you are VERY VERY strong but this is something i have to see a full vid of to believe!! I don't think it has been done before! John Brookfield once said that this feat of strength was IMPOSSIBLE.
(edit) Don't take this comment to mean that i doubt that you did it (re-reading it it sounds like that) i would love to see it in real time vid though.Last edited by ukstrongman; 04-24-2007 at 10:37 AM.

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!! WAIT A SEC. HERE!! If JOHN BROOKFIELD himself was unable to CRUSH/OPEN a can of pepsi/cole/any soda can with 1 hand, then HOW IN THE HELL did you MANAGE to do it, Titania? I too MUST see a vid of this. Even MAGNUS SAMUELSSON had to use 2 HANDS to OPEN a can of soda. Titania, please DON'T take offense to this, but you got MY VERY ATTENTION on this. PLEASE post a vid of this. If you LEGIT open that can with 1/ONE hand, then I will come all the way to AUSTRALIA AND MARRY YOU!! AGAIN, PLEASE post a vid!!

If it's legit then I feel weak. I read your stats Titania and your powerlifts are great for a 148 pound male and even more impressive for a female. I am a 5'7 220 lb powerlifter that can bench 530 raw, deadlift 700 and close a coc#2 10x,( I am about an 1/8 " away from my number 3), but I can't beat your grip strength. My best rolling thunder is 185 and I tried the pepsi can open and I think I strained my hand. I know there are some grip specialist on here that are definitely stronger then me at that type of training, but I never thought I female would put me to shame. Good job!!

Guys, you have ALL just made my week with your replies on this
The can crush itself didn't do exactly what I had hoped it would though. Instead of actually popping the top, the side split open but I was still pretty happy with the result.
The video clip of this can crush is on my website and is something that I have been wanting to include for ages but I couldn't do the feat until now. There are a lot of people that have subscribed to my site specifically to see this one. My website is actually a significant part of my income so posting this clip on Youtube would eat into the money I use to pay my bills significantly.
Anyway, for those who really want to see it now, a subscription is only a few dollars.
The other option is to wait for my strength feats DVD to be released. This clip will be included on it but it will be a few months before we have filmed enough content for it.

Great feat of strength Titania - Kudos to ya!!
Also, I just tried the one hand pepsi can crush and couldn't get it so I shook it up and tried again one handed and still couldn't get it... wow that's tough!Last edited by FatherOfThree; 04-24-2007 at 08:34 PM.

Do you honestly think that if you started juicing up, you would be able to cruch a soda can? She's a 148lb woman and she just crushed a Soda Can with 1 hand, That type of strength doesnt come with steroid use, it comes with great genetics and hard work. Stop tryin to belittle her feats of strength just so you can feel better about yourself.

Completely unreal ...
Titania,
I have to agree with some of the other regulars here.
There is no doubt in my mind that you are one incredibly strong young lady.
However, I think with some of the strength feats you've been claiming lately (190ish RT lifts, one handed pop can crushes etc.) you're going to have to start posting videos or (even better) doing these things in comps, in front of witnesses.
It isn't that I don't believe you, but I think many people won't (if I didn't know you, and hadn't watched your progression over the past year and a half, I must admit I wouldn't).
The things you are doing are male professional strongman feats. Things that 300 pound guys, some of whom juice, and who have been training for many years, struggle to do.
Before accepting that a 150 pound woman can do them, I'm really thinking that the world is going to demand undisputable proof.
That said ... I'm anxiously waiting for the day you DO enter a contest and break the RT record, I'll be in line with everyone else to congratulate you!

As I understand it ...
Brookfield tried to make the top of the can pop open and couldn't ... and I don't know of anyone who has been able to.
I do know of several people who have crushed one by splitting the sides ... essentially by working their fingers through the sides of the can until it splits.
Not that this reduces Titania's accomplishment in the least ... those "several other people" I'm referring to are all 250ld + male strongmen. I've tried to crush a pop can myself using the fingers through the side technique and didn't even come close.

Thanks again everyone.
Doc,
I am anxiously awaiting the chance to do the RT lift in a comp too. It looks like I will have to arrange and organise a local comp myself possibly with the help of either CAPO (WPC) or Bill Lyndon (Australia's Strongest Man).
I have spoken to Randall from IronMind and the original plan was to do it with a witness in a similar fashion to a gripper cert. However Randall felt that it would be fairer if I was to do the lift in an official comp just like anyone else has too which is fair enough. There is a distinct lack of such comps in Aussie land hence my plans to see if I can arrange a comp myself.
As for the Pepsi crush, it didn't pop from the top as I had hoped but burst from a split in the side. I tried pushing my fingers into the can but that was just too damn hard so I just worked my way around it crushing (as in a gripper close) as hard as I could until the side split.
Sam (UkStrongman) will be viewing the video in the next day or so and I have asked him to post his thoughts on it here once he has seen it.
I am also planning on working with Bill Lyndon this year to do some strength feats for the Guiness Book of Records which will be loads of fun. I'm hoping that will convince some of my criticsRetired strongwoman and powerlifter. Now living for God!
