Spread at 7 yards (average home defense distance) is 5". lol. Congrats, you have a 10% larger margin for error with 300% more recoil than an AR.

I knew a guy who had a home invasion happen while he was showering. Srs. He had to run naked across the house to grab his gun.

I have weapons ready in the living room, foyer, pantry, bathrooms (one in the shower, one near the toilet), laundry room, each bedroom, and attic.

Sure, but wouldn't a handgun suffice? Unless you are expecting dozens of invaders at the same time. Glad we don't have the gun culture here-cannot imagine being paranoid/worried about armed people breaking in while you are having a dump. Only seen one gun in my life-an old WW2 relic in a house we were helping clear for an old lady to move & doubt I will see another.

We cannot imagine knowing that if our country was invaded, the only thing we could rely on to defend ourselves was a tiny underfunded military.

Tbh the insurgency in Iraq and Afghanistan was very effective against US forces. We’re talking untrained sub 100 iq’s. Imagine what millions of trained Americans would do with far superior firepower.

Nobody could invade the US mainland and live to tell the story dead srs. We know it and so does everyone else including our enemies.

At least we have the option to defend ourselves properly. You have no options

imagine not using a shotgun for home defense. if tyrone is in your house attacking your family, you won't be able to see him with your AR. but you just start blasting with the shotgun and there's a 100% chance you hit tyrone

Personally I own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
