Yeah. Keep in mind that bullets are lead. And most houses are rated for 30-40lbs per square foot upstairs.

I was considering putting an ammo safe upstairs. Estimated weight of the safe plus ammo would have been 1100lbs sitting on approximately 4 square feet of floor. I ran it by a friend who is a structural engineer. He told me I was an insane person. He said that if I placed it perfectly along an exterior wall that I might avoid anything catastrophic, but that it would 1000% cause sagging of the structure over time.

You live in Texas, which means that you don't have a basement and have a garage. Place it in your garage. There's no tactically edge of having a safe designated for just ammo in your living space, the garage would be fine. Are you paranoid or just have a hoarding problem? Also get a bunch of silica packs and those air humidify absorber things off amazon. (Super Ded fkn Srs)
