Really depressed, my uncle just died yesterday srs

Besides being regularly depressed, my uncle also passed away yesterday.

He suffered a lot, so in a way I’m glad it’s over for him as bad as it sounds. He was a LDARer like I am.

I basically just sit around all day like he did, except I don’t smoke weed or drink alcohol like he did. I’m mainly just on my computer. He was into computers too and played video games.

Is there any way to get over depression once and for all? I’ve been depressed since I was 17. I want the depression to stop now srs. I take meds and have a serious psychiatric disorder.

Idk. By misc and society’s standards my uncle was a loser, but I always thought he was pretty cool or at least he always showed me cool new video games and books and things.

He had a temper and was only 5’4, which contributed to the LDARing.

When it comes to me, I just lay around because I can’t get any women and I have like 1 friend. My one friend and I are going to church together tomorrow though, so there’s that.

Sorry OP. Accept that everything and everyone in life is temporary. Sooner or later we lose everything. Look into stoicism and budhism/taoism, it's helped me immensly in tough times.

I care about misc/society standards less than I care about washing my legs when I take a shower.

I think this could be an important exercise at this point in your grieving process if you want to participate. If not, I will shut up and let you be. You just seemed okay talking about it.

You don’t have to type it out, you can just think to yourself.


Regardless of what anyone else thinks, that does not matter.

Think about the time you have had with him, and try to identify a favorite one. It could take a bit. You may think of more later. Just you and him man. No one else matters.

Would your uncle want you to be perpetually depressed about it and spiral downward? I wouldn’t think so. Best thing to do is live life celebrating their memory and influence they had on you and family. Give them that honor. But you can’t speed the grieving process up. Allow your self to be saddened by their loss and grieve as anyone would. It’s normal to grieve.

There’s some truth to this. I’ve been a loser loner all my life too. I’m not technically a virgin but might as well be it’s been almost 20 years since I’ve smashed.

I’ve given up all hope of ever finding someone and not being alone. At this point I think I would even actually hate having someone be near me all the time.

But the times when I was in deep depression looking back there was an addictive mentality of wallowing and wanting to stew in the sadness.

It sounds stupid and it is, but you can literally will yourself out of it. You just have to tell yourself **** that I’m sick of it not entertaining the depression anymore.

It takes weeks and months of little moments of forcing yourself to think of anything other than the bad thoughts. Eventually you snapped out of it without realizing.
