How cool kids don't use Stretch Limos for Prom anymore?

I remember that middle class kids would put their money together and get a basic Stretch Limo and rich kids would get a limo with a hot tub, refrigerators, led lighting, a wet bar, a whole bunch of tvs, etc.
Are kids these days simply too poor or is out of style because today's kids are weirdos?

Actually many schools today don't allow it. They have to get a ride to the school. Then take a bus to the venue and back to the school. No one can leave in anything other than a bus. Bad stuff happens with the alcohol and schools cracked down on it. It sucks for the kids, but just the world we live in now.

I avoided prom like the plague.

I guess I have been a cheap bastard my whole life. Soon as I heard word that it would cost a couple hundred bucks I started vanishing from sight, I had a somewhat gf at the time too but rapidly distanced myself from her as prom approached specifically for financial reasons.

Soon as it was over I was back to my normal self and acted like I had never heard about it.

CEOs don't roll in stretch limos anymore, they roll in bulletproof range rovers with armed security escort. If kids want to be "cool" they have to roll up in a bulletproof range rover with armed security. Let mommy and daddy pay for it.

Meh. When I was a senior some friends and I didn't get a limo, instead we rented a lakeside cottage half an hour away for the weekend. That was way better.
