LOL...
Vaccine 39% effective at halting virus transmission, 91% against serious illness, Israel's health ministry says
The report has also reflected the decreasing potency of the vaccination
Israel's Health Ministry reported Thursday that the Pfizer vaccine's efficacy in preventing delta variant infections has dropped to 39 percent, while the vaccination was still 91 percent effective in preventing serious illness among those fully inoculated.
The latest figures are based on cases logged from June 20 to July 17, a period when the delta variant of COVID-19 spread throughout Israel.
The report has also reflected the decreasing potency of the vaccination, showing a mere 16 percent effectiveness against transmission among those vaccinated in January, compared to 44 percent of those vaccinated in February, 67 percent of those who received their shots in March, and 75 percent for those vaccinated in April.

Article is misleading. Even if the data turn out to support the 39% estimate, that is for stopping infection. It assumes that fully vaccinated with breakthrough infections are as likely to transmit as infected unvaccinated. That is not the case.

"Still *91 percent effective in preventing serious illness* among those fully inoculated"
Thanks OP, i didn't know the percentage was so high; very helpful information that needs to be shared widely.
Is 91%>0%?There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

I'd love to know why people are attributing Israelis having low symptoms with the vaccine as opposed to the variant just being less deadly.
We're halfway there with people acknowledging that variants mutate to spread more easily, but the other half of the equation is still missing. It's the less deadly part, and for some reason everyone's convinced it's the vaccine and not just what we've known viruses to do for the last century.

1. The hospitalization rates among the unvaccinated are nearly the same as they were for other variants (pointing toward higher).
2. The hospitalization rates for people who are vaccinated is 90% lower than the unvaccinated.
Point 1 shows that the virus has not substantially weakened. Point 2 shows that reduction is severity is attributable to the vaccine.Physics crew
