The idea was that Dany assumed Jon was interested in his right to the throne because he was telling people.

So when Tyrion brings up Jon as a threat to her claim, Jon assumes she'll kill him so he kills her first.

I'm assuming the book will wrap his identity into a fight with the dead, and do more justice for his heritage than the show.

It was honestly fine and looked like what Martin intended. The issue is how abruptly it happened. We didn't get to see her descent into madness. They really needed to show her break mentally and explore her tyrannical nature more.

It was what he COULD have done, what he had the right to do but didn't. That was the focal point of his character. He didn't fall back on title to do what was right or take power, he did what he had to do to follow his moral compass despite the fact that he could have taken an easier road. His entire character arc was being a paragon of virtue and doing the right thing no matter the cost.

He didn't kill her to save himself, he killed her to save the world after she told him she literally wanted to kill everybody who thought differently to them.

Its just that her targets made it behavior that people could get behind. She brutally murdered the slavers and crucified the nobles in Mereen, they even shoved it in your face that they weren't all bad when one of the Nobles sons comes to explain all the ways his father tried to help the slaves live better lives without being discovered and she killed him too.

They spoon fed that chit like no tomorrow. I feel like most of you kind of watched the show in quick glances with your phone in your hand.

Yeah...she definitely wasn't justice or sympathy. She was cruel. Martin had clearly planned something like this all along. I just wish it wasn't so abrupt. She was always slowly becoming more and more Hitler. She reminds me of liberal SJW feminazis.

Honestly it was blah ending. I think we all experienced amazing writing and story for first 6-7 seasons so everyone is so surprised that this last season is such **** writing.

I have no problem with Dany going evil but the way that it was done / rushed just doesn't make it logical/believable .

The ending is pretty **** generic ending too something you would expect from a low budget movie definitely not something GOT fans are accustomed to. I think that is why the reaction is so negative....for 10 years we have been getting amazing story / writing / episodes and now we get this predictable happy boring uninteresting ending.

Lol that's not what they were laying out at all, and you were literally talking about what they were actually laying out in a previous post. They were attempting to paint the narrative that she has always been a blood thirsty killer that was obfuscated by the fact she was doing it against worse people. In my post I was defending her actions by virtue of good and bad being completely subjective, and she had to make the same brutal choices every super power does. Trying to pretend she was an evil person doing bad things to more evil people than her is the tinker toy version of the world that they wanted the portions of the audience that are brain dead to eat up. Especially when a mass murderer like Tyrion is giving the speech lol.
