    Madcow for PL?

Hey guys, I've been jumping back and forth about what kind of program I wanted to do for the next couple months and kind of decided on a u/l p/p/l and moderate rep range to go along with a small surplus and hopefully put some extra mass on. But... this morning I got a call from a friend telling me about a PL meet 30 min from where I live at the end of June. So I am going to get back to strength focused training and before I was using Madcow. A couple months ago when I switched to an u/l split(coming off madcow) I was at 365x5 s 225x5 b and 405x5 dl over the last couple months I have not progressed my main lifts and doubt I'm still at those numbers. Couple of questions. 1) is madcow my best bet to prepare for the comp 2) would it be wise for me to test my 1rm or just use my old 5rm for my new 1rm? 3) anything stand out that I should take note of in the USPA? Thanks in advance

Madcow is a good intermediate program, but it is not a peaking program to get ready for a meet. If you have time to run two cycles of candito, I would do that. I ran it before my last meet and hit prs on all three lifts, though I didn't follow the bench programming. If you don't have 12 weeks, I would a volume block with a small deload then start candito 6 weeks out.
