    Pre-Workout or BCAA ?

    If you had to pick one, which would it be and why? Looking to possibly look into getting a pre-workout or BCAA.

    Bcaas are abundant in a diet and are unnecessary to be supplemented.

    At your age, focus on your training program and your diet. Check out supplements in a couple years when you have the main fundementals down.
    Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!

    I would say that you probably don't need either.
    If you eat well and have a protein-full diet, there's going to be sufficient BCAA in there.

    Are you looking for a PWO because you feel you need one, or are you getting one because (almost) everyone else is using a PWO? I barely use a PWO and do just fine. Everyone's different though.

    I'd say PWO and the only reason would be for the added energy from the caffeine. A good strong coffee will give you same effect. Both aren't really necessary but you asked to choose one

    I would go with a preworkout easy. You get added energy, pump, and focus with a well formulated one. You get plenty of BCAAs with a high protein diet.

    I use both but if I had to pick it would definitely be a pre because I need that extra boost of energy in the gym to get through my workout. BCAA doesn't really do much for me unless I do fasted cardio. But I use warp-5 and intra amino almost every workout.

    I would go with a cup of coffee before your workout and then BCAAs while you workout.

    Caffeine will benefit a workout, but at a certain point it increases cardiac event risk. If you need some preworkout with insane amounts of caffeine, you aren't doing something right in your life. Get more sleep or stop over training.

    Just my philosophy.

    I use both but if I had to pick it would definitely be a pre because I need that extra boost of energy in the gym to get through my workout. BCAA doesn't really do much for me unless I do fasted cardio.
    This. I really only ever use BCAAs during fasted cardio or, once in a while, longer lifting sessions like high volume leg days.

    That being said, I do just fine using neither and simply drinking black coffee as a pre.

    Not took either in a very long time really, but pre workout did benefit me alot more. If you lack sleep or do night shifts its perfect for giving you that bit of energy you need.
