its funny all the protestors are chanting, hands up dont shoot because supposedly he also had his hands up when he was shot. I recently did a 2 day training on Officer Involved Shooting investigations. One of the instructors was a defense attorney for many cities/counties during officer involved shooting lawsuits. there was one lawsuit that occurred at a party where everyone said the same thing, the officer shot while the guy had his hands up and that he was not about to hit the cop on top of the head with a full bottle of jack daniels. So the PD lawyer marched up like 20 witnesses and asked them one question, what they saw and they all said the same thing, the cop shot and the guy had his hands up. On the last witness, who was the pastor of the church in the area, he asked him the same question. Guy said the same thing so then the lawyer asked him, well where were you looking, at the victim or the police. He said he was looking at the cop then after he shot he looked back and saw the guy with his hands up. Now the lawyer went on to explain what happens when someone is hit multiple times with a 1300 FPS projectile hitting them, they straighten up, and begin to fall backwards, at that same time their arms can come up into the air as they are falling backwards. So in the 2 seconds it takes people to look from the cop shooting to where he is hitting the projectiles have already done their damage and the person is falling backwards and their hands will go into the air from the momentum of them falling backwards.

I realize you're here to ask for the facts, but the problem is, no one has them, since there hasn't been an investigation. All we can see are people defending their respective camps. We know some circumstances around what happened, but we don't know how the shooting actually went down. Reserving judgement until then would be wise.
