swung from 4100 down to 3800 now up to 4350 in the last two weeks. it's very easy to climb ranks if you only play heroes you know you are good at...dota is all about minimizing mistakes so you can keep snowballing.

and yep, if u are actually any good u would have to call mid, safe or offlane. never a support because those days u cant trust a ****ing carry!!!!!!!!!!!

basicly if you feel like your teammates/opponents are worse than you this is what worked for me:

1. and most important: no matter how bad your team is, do not flame them, do not analyse their mistakes, analyse yours
2. dont play support, pick mid or carry or some offlane that can carry
3. build a heropool of 5-10 heros that youre really good with, start playing mostly those
4. play greedy, rack up gold, if you arent a billion % sure that you can get 2-3 kills that matter dont gang, win YOUR lane, not your teammates lanes, that will come later, create space by pushing towers aggresively
5. abuse your opponents mistakes more than they abuse your teammates'
6. watch good peoples streams/live games/replays and learn their tips and tricks

i already am currently doing all that, im rotating heroes 5-10-15.

and i love windrunner when i play her as a semi-carry.

yes lately ive been trying to stay away from supporting and call the positions first but however i hjave to mark it on the map since i got muted for a week last night over some riki randomer who had no kills and critizied me when i went 1-2-0 end of the match, and he lost the argument i guess the ***got reported me.
