    Who else agrees?

    I've stopped making sure I've been eating so much protein and I've just been focusing on calories and I feel so much better.

    i use to count my protein like crazy, but recently ive tapered down my protein a bit and started counting carbs instead and im seeing pretty good gains. i still make sure i get a minimum of 100g protein though, but its super easy so i dont even really have to try

    I think that having carbs Post workout until bed works best for me. While eatting meats with no carbs and getting some fat prior to my workouts.

    OP dont listen to some of these people. Protein is definately importantly, but carbs are more important - its the first thing your body burns throughout the day! You can definitely gain loads of muscle at 60g of protein, just as long as you get enough carbs and fats in your diet. (healthy fats though so you don't become overweight).

    Most people have fallen victim to the propaganda that the whey protein and supplement companies are telling them.

    In terms of what's most optimal. No, if you aren't hitting protein and are getting unnecessary amounts of CHO you won't make gains.


    Also, given the fact that most teens STRUGGLE to get necessary protein.. this isn't ideal.

    don't necessarily agree with the first line, you can make gains on very low amounts of protein but it is not optimal according to the research that is currently available

    protein requirements are a lot higher when cutting, up to 3g/kg of BW has been shown to be beneficial in preserving lean mass
