Four of my friends got into a major car accident this weekend.

Their car ran off the road and hit two trees. It was so close to my house the sirens from the ambulances kept me from sleeping all night.

There were five girls in the car, I knew everyone besides the driver. One of my friends is now on life support and no one can say yet if she even has a chance of surviving. One is braindead, and another is now quadriplegic. Thankfully the fourth passenger is okay, and the driver is in jail. Five young girls with bright futures ahead of them all had their lives changed forever because one of them didn't think she had to be sober to drive. I lost two friends forever and realistically nothing will ever be the same for the other two.

Please, PLEASE don't drink and drive misc. Too many people see it as not a big deal, but one bad decision can end your life. Or worse.

Firefighter/Paramedic that's seen a couple wrecks: it's still early. Modern medicine (especially surgery) and things like induced hypothermia are working miracles. Fingers crossed for your friends. Seatbelts in use?

I don't think she was ran off the road. Idk if she was sleeping or just zoning out that hard or what but as far as anyone knows at this point it was just her fault. I'm just glad she didn't hit anyone else

The situation is so overwhelming I don't even know what to say to you OP. I can't even imagine having a friend be brain dead, another on life support and another become quadriplegic. How long have you known these girls and what's the nature of your relationship with them? Have you visited them in the hospital?

I lost a childhood friend in a similar way recently. She got in the car with her drunk bf who decided speeding was a good idea. She died on the spot. Drunk driving is a terrible idea, but so is getting into a car with a drunk driver.

Driver was a girl, they were probably all drunk and the driver said she was fine to do so.
