When you think about it, North America (namely the 48 contiguous US states) has the most diverse geographical terrain on the planet. From the rainy pinelands of the Pacific northwest, to the Pacific beaches of California. The southwestern deserts, the midwestern plains, southern marshland, Floridian swamps, the IL/MN lakes, etc.
But Colorado really epitomizes that diversity with a combination of lakes and rivers, 10-14K foot western mountains, eastern farm plains, southern desert, and northern valleys. If it's an outdoor activity that doesn't involve the ocean, we've got it here. It'll snow 36" in February and no-one will bat an eye, but come July, we walk around in 100 degree heat.
We're the nation's fittest state, we've forgotten more this week about Jeeps and 4x4s than you'll learn in your lifetime, we can shoot, and our microbrews have created an entire scene of their own. It wascheap, safe, and socially dynamic. Yet fear-mongering eastern money, along with California "progressive" legislature is going to spit in the face of all of that.Near, far, wherever you are...
...I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more, you open the door.
And you're here in my heart.
And my heart will go on and on.

Any particular reason you aren't taking advantage of the stability advantages of the seated position by resting at least your support elbow on a leg or knee?
If thats you in pic
At any rate, this is an excellent ample of wasted potential, to sit and still not have your arm or rifle supported on something

Epic fail as a stopper rifle.
Brb 28.5 lbs empty with no accessories
Brb deafening people everyone
Would only work as a vehicle mounted gun.
Something like a 505 gibbs or 500 a-square would be much better. Doubles in 500-600 NE are made for this role, but only proconsul could afford them. Lol

Anyone own or fired one of these? I'm looking at them because of the dirt cheapness of ammo

Recently finally picked up a Pelican case for two of my babies. Pelican cases are fuking awesome btw, paid $212 for this one off amazon shipped.
Pls don't mind the still minor outlines of chalk around the cuts in that pic.
Also, cut the foam with basically an X-acto knife and some scissors, not the best tools. Was excited and didn't want to drop like $60 on an electric carving knife either (much flatter, easier, better cuts that ends up looking much nicer) -- But i'm still super happy with my cuts, cut a little small so i could expand and smooth out the rough cuts. Worked out nicely.

The 416 rigby is the first gun I've ever owned!
Jk, only the action.
I bought a cz550 magnum receiver with a 416 rigby bolt face when i turned 18. Then I kinda was broke so couldnt afford anything else besides a rem 870 marine mag.
When i started making money, fightin' guns became my main focus since i no longer have interest in hunting myself.
I still have the receiver. Might put together a build next year.

what would you like to know? Only thing I can say is I'd recommend waiting for the other models to go down in price and get the model with the front sights on the barrel and not the gas block. AK sight tools dont work, and good luck zeroing the windage with a hammer since the sight drum is nearly impossible to move.

So my Diamondhead rail won't fit on my Mega billet upper because of the anti-rotation tabs. Debating between either trying to meticulously cut and file the tabs so they fit, or just shave the damn things completely off. How necessary are they really?

That's kinda my problem, I'm not really sure. I spent a bunch of money in the last couple months, my wife is starting to give me bert stares every time a package comes. She knows I'm getting another pistol, but then I'm probably done till fall or so, at least without an argument. Since I don't like to argue, the next handgun I buy will be it for a while.
I should get something small(ish) for a carry gun and start saving for a nice 1911. I decided I don't want to buy a cheaper one and spend a bunch of money upgrading it.
Congrats!

How are the ammo stocks going in your local stores? Ive been finding 223/556 everytime I go to Academy, 9mm is rare to find though.
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now out numbered by those who vote for a living.

Random hunting calibers and .40S&W are abundant... I haven't been doing much buying here because shops in NY are going insane with pricing

My LGS has been keeping stuff in stock lately, but they have a 2 box limit for 223/556, 3 box for 762x39, and 1 box for 22lr, 45, 9mm. Not sure what they have been getting in for other calibers, but I've been getting limit on 223/556, 9mm, and CCI 22lr for a buddy when I go.
The Walmart I was getting stuff at hasn't been producing for me, but I honestly am not stopping in every single day like I was. I was going 2 or 3 times a day for a while."If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." -Thomas Paine

This is something our side pointed out over and over in all the (limited) "debate" that was held out here . . . what there was of it with the legislature basically shutting off testimony. And I think it's going to be a serious issue for CO--as it should be.
Companies like Magpul will leave, but hunting and other outdoor sports are gigantic in Colorado's economy. The Dems here have no clue how big an impact that boycotts will have on those tourism-related businesses when people refuse to come here anymore due to the unfriendly environment for gun owners. It's just too easy to go to Wyoming, Utah, Montana, etc to get the same experiences. My guess is that will not be replaced by people coming here because of the changes. As much as I hate to say it and as much as it will hurt small businesses owned by people who support the 2nd Amendment--I hope the impact is huge and swift. Would make the 2014 elections even sweeter if tourism numbers dropped significantly.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*
