Sup brahs, have been rasterbating for the last hour or two. Taking a break right now so I figured I'd post some progress pics. Will post pics once my wall is all covered.
Step 1: Find pic. Decided to go with Rafiki and Simba.
Step 2: Photochop. Had to make it the right dimensions (I wanted to do 12x4 pages). Also turned it black and white. It looked pretty funky so I had to play with some adjustments, and touched it up a bit. Here's what I printed.
Step 3: Rasterize and Print. I used this program to turn the pic into 48 different pictures. You end up with one PDF file with all of the pages. Printed them on a laser printer at work and heres what I came out with.
Step 3: Frames. Most people just tape it up on the wall but I figured it would look a bit better with some thin frames. I bought these little cheap black plastic document frames. Took a long ass time to take the plastic off the frames, remove the picture that it comes with, then put in the pictures that I wanted. Keep this in mind if you're doing a large picture.
And that's where I am now. Next step is to measure everything out and frame them on my wall. Will report back with pics when I'm done.

I ordered 2 cases (24 in each case) at Dollar Tree, so it was $48 plus tax. There's a link in step 3. They have free ship to store, but it took like a week. Ordered it last week, picked it up at my local Dollar Tree today. And yes, that's the part I'm dreading. Have everything measured out though.
Printed them off at work for free. Whenever I decide to switch pictures, I'm def going to have them printed somewhere that has borderless printing.

Why u do dis? Looks like sh!t. It's a huge wall of tiles. Why not just send it to a printer to make it big? When I worked in a copy center we charged 50c a square foot for photo quality on standard paper B&W. 3' or 2' continuous rolls.

Sorry about the wait brahs. Had to go out for a bit. Finally started putting nails in. Decided to see how the bottom row looked.
Not positive why the two on the bottom right are wrinkly... Probably the frames. They are all uneven and weirdly shaped (curved, not exact rectangles with straight sides). I don't recommend them.

The program turns them all into little dots. Take a look at the final product that the program spat out: http://raymdl.com/simba.pdf
