So much stupidity itt if people genuinely think that it's possible to turn up and dominate a sport in 10 years. It's a skill based sport and not just athletics. Look at Dwain Chambers when he went into rugby, he was terrible. Need generations of coaching to get a national team to a high standard.

strong strong 200th repost of more or less identical thread i saw last week, lol
cant be bothered reading through 11 pages, arguments are all going to be same as last thread.
the guy in OP video plays 7's, yer the US can dominate, 7's is all about who is fastest,
but.... no one gives a chit about 7's
anyone with even a shread of knowledge and understanding about rugby realizes the guy would not be given the space or time in a full 15 game, 15 requires a greater technical ability size and/or speed is not enough in the full version of the game☆☆☆υк ¢яєω☆☆☆

The only reason americans do any decent in sport is because of your large population you ain't a superior race or anything, i watch alot of nfl and agree they are amazing athletes but they can't last 80 minutes.
brb usa 46 gold for population of 300 million
brb nz 6 gold for population of 4.5 million
brb if we had your population we would have 400 golds

Scotland won't ever go far, but I've played Rugby since I could walk and I gaurantee I could play vs the USA team and wreck havoc (100% srs). Only reason I'm not a pro right now is 'coz i've gotten lazy and I cba going training (and can't make it on days I do want to go).
P.S. League is alot more fun than Union, played both for a good 15 years each. Always ****ing hilarious when YOU HAVE THE BALL and you smash a 20 stone roided up kunt flat on his arse then run over him. Also 20-30 meter run ups to shoulder charge someone and knocking them out cold are absolute win (inglis style baby!)

I'd say AFL is more physically demanding than NRL. But your point is valid, I am pretty oblivious to what the NFL is, other than a few highlight reals and scattered minutes on television, but I've read the actual 'action' time in NFL is only 12-15 minutes? There is 80 minutes of rucking, scrumming, tackling, line outs, sprinting, kicking and catching in rugby. try be 300lb+ for that.

We are already the world's best engineers. I think we could figure out some way to push the sidelines back a bit to fit a field. They play soccer in football stadiums and I've seen rugby inside of college stadiums. Don't worry though we won't steal rugby. Football is so much better to play and watch.

I started to wonder as I was reading through this thread and came to the realisation that most of the best Rugby League (NRL) players and Rugby Union players are of the smaller calibre. Not 6ft + characters capable of benching small cars, but the naturally gifted play makers are most often the better players.
I'm not a big Union fan (this is the game the Ameribrahs would know as "Rugby") but as an NRL fan and rep half-back until I was 19, size meant little to me. Coming up against 6ft + Samoan/Tongan/Maori boys was a weekly thing and even though I was tossed around from time to time, it was all part of the game that I loved and was quite good at.
I love watching the NFL as well however, and always take a day off work for the Super Bowl... but nothing compares to State of Origin in my mind.
If you want an example of toughness, watch highlight clips of players like Allan Langer, Andrew Johns and other small players who would dominate and get beat up every weekend. Michael De Vere getting staples in his forehead (without pain killers and whilst still on the field) to stay on the field during State of Origin a few years ago comes to mind.
Theres more to sport than pure athleticism and speed. Brb Usain Bolt becomes world best Rugby player.
