go to a fast food resteraunt, go up to a pretty girl that works there, ask her
"Do you take orders to go??? "
she will say "well, yes, of coarse"
you say "Good, get your coat and lets go"
laugh but it works, and when you can do that, you will be not over the problem, but at least you will be able to laugh at yourself..
good luck

What's worked for me is this: immersion.
Put yourself in social situations whether you're comfortable with it or not. Survive. Remember anything you did (i.e. socializing) that helped you feel better and do it again; and again; and again; and again....
You never completely get over it.
I used to be so antisocial that it made others uncomfortable. I kept putting myself in these uncomfortable social situations (joining groups, going with friends to parties, talking to people) where I would usually feel extremely embarrassed and self-conscious.
Over time, you become desensitized to the point where you can relax and take control over what you say and who you say it to.
You cannot possibly be any more f*cked up than I used to be.
It sux at first, but you get used to it. Trust me.

if your talking about the tapes/handouts...they helped a ****load.
right now im doing the behavorial therapy which is taking the info and cognitive therapy that iv learned and putting it into the real world. I am using a heirarchy to move up.
one of the things about social anxiety is that u are always worried about what other people think. So what im trying to do is get comfortable just doing things (walking past groups of people, doing what i want that DOESNT involve talking) and getting comfortable saying hi to strangers and saying things that are quick...also starting and ending conversations.
Then when i can do all that...should be at the end of these 4 weeks, i wont be 100% confident, but like i said since SA involves lots of caring abot what others think, im going to start reading up on all this alpha male ****, especially the book "how to become an alpha male". This way i will be able to care less about what others think and become alpha in the process

They're OTC. They can be ordered from this site for pretty cheap. On the page about the product, there's a brief description about the amino acid/vitamin.

I have SAD, and nothing has really helped it so far. I have OCD, too, and the intrusive thoughts I get only make my anxiety even worse. The think is, you can't just relax. If someone told me to relax, I couldn't do it. It's just not that simple. No medication has helped significantly so far (Prozac, Paxil, Effexor, etc.).

As is looking into personal development and "forcing" yourself to talk to others. It's helped alot but I'd but I still have room for improvement IMHO. I'd also like to stay away from prescription drugs at least for the time being.100% 中国人 / Chinese

I went to the doctor and got ***** and it's works pretty well for me. Ill probably just keep taking it until better meds come out which wont be for a while. And you can forget about Prozac and antidepressants I bet half the people recommending this crap has never taken a prescription drug in their life. Anti-depressants are complete **** and will not only not help you. They give you ****ty side-effects. In my experience there are only a couple of medications that actually work the way they are supposed to and they are all controlled subtances such as ********, Ritalin, *****, ******, Klonopin, Oxycontin, ********, ****. Basically if the substance doesnt have substance abuse potential then it's pretty much uneffective. Im sure there might be one med. out there that I have yet to try that might be good but I have yet to find one.

The immersion idea is good, but that doesn't work for everyone...my face get very hot & red in certain situations, which looks horrible & is very embarrasing. This NEVER used to happen to me, but all of a sudden one day it just happened & just got worse ever since. So if I try to put myslef in a situation, I usually feel horrible about it when my face reddens and never want to do it again...
